Recent Mock Draft Has Packers Trading Up For Star Defensive Player
The 2024 National Football League Draft is almost here, and many journalists and NFL fans are spending countless hours studying the top prospects and making mock drafts. It is an exciting time to be a football fan, and CBS has already been preparing for the draft for months now.
However, after many mock drafts by different journalists, the CBS writers came together for a real-life mock draft in real time on April 15th, 2024. In this live mock draft, the crew projected the Green Bay Packers to trade up to pick #18 to select Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold.

Packers trade: 2024 1st (25 - DT Johnny Newton) 2024 3rd (88)
Bengals trade: 2024 1st (18 - CB Terrion Arnold)
It Would Be A Dream For The Packers To Trade Up For Terrion Arnold
Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold is one of the best cornerbacks in the 2024 NFL Draft class. He has a 9.25 Relative Athletic Score, which is perfect for the Packers, who always prioritize athletic players and would immediately give Green Bay the number-two cornerback they desperately needed.
Arnold had five interceptions this season, one sack, and one forced fumble. He only allowed a 50.7 passer rating when targeted and had two defensive touchdowns. His 88.4 PFF grade was among the highest in all college football.
In this mock trade, the Packers only give up a third-round pick, their own, and keep the other third-round pick acquired from the Buffalo Bills for cornerback Rasul Douglas. Arnold would look to follow in the footsteps of Green Bay's superstar cornerback Jaire Alexander, who was also drafted 18th overall in a trade-up back in the 2018 NFL Draft.
