Caleb Williams' Stunning Decision Ahead Of NFL Draft

The 2024 NFL Draft is quickly approaching, and teams around the league are getting prepared for the NFL Combine at the end of February. The Chicago Bears hold the first-overall pick and are heavily expected to trade away current quarterback Justin Fields and select USC's Caleb Williams.

The 22-year-old is a Heisman Trophy winner and has drawn comparisons to Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes, who just won his third Super Bowl ring. The Washington, D.C.-born star made a stunning decision this week when he revealed he entered the draft without an agent.

Caleb Williams' Decision Draws Comparisons To Lamar Jackson

Most players entering the NFL Draft usually hire an agent to help the draft process, such as talking to teams and convincing them to draft that player or negotiating a contract. But Williams has opted not to hire an agent, which could save him over a million dollars.

While it is rare to find an agentless player, the most notable in recent memory was Lamar Jackson, who decided not to go with an agent as he fell to the final pick of the first round. Williams is expected to be the first overall pick, which could explain why he has chosen not to hire an agent.

He figures that he has done enough to prove to teams why he should be selected, and it will be interesting to see if this bold decision will help or hurt him in the upcoming draft.
