Cade Otton Could Standout For Fantasy In A Crowded Offense
Unlike most of the tight ends at this point in the draft, Otton is the clear starter. As the Bucs' number one tight end last season, Otton had 47 catches for 455 yards and 4 touchdowns. These are not game-breaking numbers, but Otton had productive weeks.
Last year, he had 6 catches for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Texans, and in the team's playoff game against the Eagles, he had 8 catches for 89 yards. Otton also performed strongly against the Lions in the divisional round, scoring 5 for 65 and 1 TD.
Otton wasn’t the most consistent option last season, but he had his weeks where he really helped fantasy teams, and if a free agency signing gives 10+ points at tight end, it’s an absolute win.
Otton will most likely have another solid season once again and will have weeks where he is startable based on matchups. Otton doesn’t offer the upside of some other tight ends but has a solid floor for late in drafts, and teams could do much worse when punting on the position than winding up with Cade Otton as their starting tight end.
Our consensus projections for Otton in the 2024 season are 52 receptions, 557 yards, and 4 touchdowns.
