Browns Could Reunite With This Familiar Player
On Friday, a report came out that stated the Miami Dolphins will be releasing defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah.
Ogbah spent the last four seasons in Miami. Ogbah played in 15 games in 2023 recording 5.5 sacks.
Ogbah was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft and spent three seasons with the team before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs for safety Eric Murray.
John Dorsey was the Browns general manager then, and that was one of the dumbest trades he could've possibly made.
Ogbah has had a solid career since leaving the Browns, having two seasons where he ended up with 9.0 sacks, and has been an excellent number two defensive end.
The Browns have had edge rushing issues the past few seasons of the unknown in the offseason, who will be the second defensive end to go along with the best defensive end in the NFL, Myles Garrett.
The Browns had two seasons where they rolled with veteran pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney, who was good in year one but was a total bum in year two. Then, last May, Andrew Berry traded for Minnesota Vikings pass rusher Za'Darius Smith, who had an okay season but will be a free agent this season.
The Browns do need a number two defensive end. If they don't bring back Smith, Ogbah could be a name heading to Cleveland.
Ogbah is only 30 years old and should have another solid year or two in him, and he could be a cheap option.
Ogbah doesn't have to wait until the new league year to sign a deal since he was not a free agent, and the team released him, so he could be an addition to the Browns roster before free agency starts in the middle of March.
