Breaking: It’s Over For Titans’ Jon Robinson After Unexpected Pitfalls
Fans are exhausted, and the Titans are too. As a result, Jon Robinson’s tenure as General Manager comes to a screeching halt.
Titans Relieve Jon Robinson of His Duties
After perhaps the most blatant display of his shortcomings, Jon Robinson is out after the team lost embarrassingly to the Eagles. Per Tom Pelissero, the front office was unhappy with how the roster was assembled and needed a change. Robinson’s current deal with the team had him under contract for four more years. He will walk away with that pay. This firing almost certainly shocks most, as the Titans lead the AFC South with a commanding lead.
Just an all time bad day to be J Rob. AJ Brown going nuts. OT weakness getting exposed. CB weakness getting exposed. WR Depth getting exposed. His four worst moves of the past few years coming home to roost during an Eagles coronation. Nightmare fuel. #Titans — TicTacTitans (@TicTacTitans) December 4, 2022
What Is Next For The Titans?
Vice President of Player Personnel, Ryan Cowden, will lead decisions regarding the team for the remainder of the season. Cowden has been with the Titans for seven years. As the team transitions, owner Amy Adams Shrunk was very vocal about her expectations moving forward:
Since becoming controlling owner in 2015, my goal has been to raise the standard for what is expected in all facets of our organization. I believe we have made significant progress both on and off the field through investments in leadership, personnel and new ideas. This progress includes the core of our business, the football team itself, which is regularly evaluated both by results (wins and losses) and team construction/roster building. I am proud of what we have accomplished in my eight seasons of ownership, but I believe there is more to be done and higher aspirations to be met. Jim Wyatt, Senior Writer Editor, Tennesee Titans
The team has not released additional information, but fans can reasonably expect more in the coming days and weeks. Anotther wrinkle in the puzzle: head coach Mike Vrabel is expected to have more power moving forward.
Conclusion
With this abrupt departure, Todd Downing has to be on the radar. Unfortunately, the current offensive struggles also tie back to him, and with his off-the-field troubles, his seat got a lot warmer.
