Auburn Advances To The Semifinals Of The SEC Tournament
NASHVILLE - "It will be tough, but they ain't got The Jungle no more." - Freshman forward Collin Murray-Boyles. It didn't matter where this game was played, Auburn wasn't losing.
Auburn (25-7) dominated South Carolina (26-7) in a rematch of two of the SEC's best teams. Auburn led the game after the 15-minute mark in the first half and never trailed. South Carolina looked out of their weight class, letting Auburn do whatever it wanted offensively and defensively.
Johni Broome and Chaney Johnson led the way for the Tigers with a combined 29 points, helping Auburn earn their first conference win since 2019, where the Tigers won the conference championship.
The Auburn defense locked down the South Carolina offense tonight limiting them to 55 points and 27% field goal percentage.
Auburn is scheduled to play against Mississippi State Bulldogs tomorrow with a noon CT tip-off.
The Bulldogs are very confident after securing a dominant victory over the top-seeded Tennessee Vols. The Tigers and the Bulldogs have faced off twice this season, with each team winning one game.
Tomorrow's matchup between the Tigers and the Bulldogs will be a big-time matchup between two of the league's most physical teams. Both are gunning for a chance to win the SEC Conference Tournament Championship.
