Auburn Adds Elite Athlete From Tennessee
After spending the day visiting the Tigers on an official visit, four-star cornerback Donovan Starr from Ravenwood High School in Brentwood, Tennessee, called the coaching staff on his way home and announced that he was ready to commit to being an Auburn Tiger.
Per 247Sports, he is listed as 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds. He is the No. 14 recruit out of Tennessee, the No. 35 cornerback, and the No. 431 nationally-rated recruit. He chose Auburn over programs such as Clemson, Illinois, and Missouri.
Starr is one of the class of 2025's best athletes. As a junior, he won the Tennessee 3A D-1 state championship in the 100 meters (10.56) and the high jump (6-6). He also ran a 22.06 at the 200 sectionals.
His primary recruiters were cornerback coach Wesley McGriff and defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin, who played a significant role in his recruitment.
Donovan Starr is the third defensive back to join Auburn's 2025 recruiting class, along with four-star Devin Williams and three-star Dante Core. With the addition of Starr, Auburn now shares the No. 9 class in the nation, passing Georgia.
