Aubameyang Reunite With Thomas Tuchel

Chelsea completed the double swoop signing of Premier League veteran Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and swiss international Denis Zakaria as first reported by Fabrizio Romano.

Both players joined from Barcelona and Juventus respectively in the closing hours of the European transfer deadline day on Thursday, amidst further confirmation of several departures within the squad.

Aubameyang, 33, has signed with Chelsea in a swap deal with Barcelona also confirming the arrival of former Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso who spent six years at the bridge. English media earlier reported that Barcelona would receive 10 m euros but the Spanish club in a Twitter post confirmed the sale of the attacker for 12 million euros.

He joined the North London side in the summer of 2018 for a club record 60 million euros scoring 82 goals in all competitions for the London outfit across his four-year tenure with the club while also lifting two trophies in that span.

Aubameyang is delighted to reunite with his previous manager after both parties formed a formidable bond during their days back in Germany making Borussia Dortmund dominant across Europe. He scored 79 goals in two seasons for the red and yellows and also beating Robert Lewandoski to the German golden boot in 2018.

Tuchel who had been a long admirer of the player finally had his wish granted by The new American owner Todd Boehly as he grants Aubameyang’s signature and also secured the signing of Denis Zakaria to bolster the team’s midfield options.

The Swiss midfielder, 25, who signed for Juventus in January joins the Blues on loan. Explosive, dynamic, and gifted with a highly-tuned tactical awareness, Denis looks set to strive under Thomas Tuchel after previously struggling with the tactical adjustments of Max Allegri.

Nottingham Forest was also set to cash in on Chelsea’s Forgotten striker Michy Batshuayi but the deal was rumored to have collapsed due to documents not being sent in due time before the deadline.

The Blues look like they have strengthened their squad with high-profile signings of Kalidou Koulibaly, Wesley Fofana, and Marc Cucurella to tighten their defense while also adding experienced Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Raheem sterling to spearhead their attack. Chelsea is currently on a dip in form and a sheer lack of confidence so It’ll be interesting to see how Thomas Tuchel works with the current squad at his disposal.
