A Break From Training Camp: The Baltimore Ravens All Time 53 Man Roster
The Baltimore Ravens kick off the 2022 preseason this coming Thursday against the Tennessee Titans. It is not known if the majority of the healthy starters will dress for the game. To avoid catastrophe, I’d err on the side of caution and rest the superstars. To ease the anxious approach to the season, let’s take a look at the best 53-man roster in the Ravens’ history.

Ravens Honorable Mentions
This roster is purely subjective. Picking the best 53-man roster from the franchise’s history is tough. It’s not always easy to avoid recency bias.
Offensively, the Ravens are rich at the fullback position throughout their nearly 30-year existence. Vonta Leach was the pick. Patrick Ricard was close. As were Kyle Juszcyzk and Sam Gash. Alan Ricard and Ovie Mughelli were great fullbacks. Le’Ron McClain was a hybrid back that was difficult to justify for either position.
The Ravens franchise boasts many great players at tight end as well. I wrestled with the final spot between Shannon Sharpe and Dennis Pitta. Both have a Super Bowl ring in Baltimore. I gave Sharpe the edge because of his well-known and acknowledged leadership role. Ed Dickson and Dallas Clark played well in their time here. Nick Boyle is the definition of consistent.
Will Lamar sign a second contract with Ravens? – Powered By PickUp
Defensively, arguments could be made for more than a few players. Marcus Peters missed all of 2021. Cornerback is another position of long-term depth. Cary Williams, James Trapp, Brandon Carr, Deion Sanders, Gary Baxter, and Corey Graham were all considered. Dawan Landry just missed the list of safeties. CJ Mosley and Daryl Smith missed the inside linebackers group. Corey Redding and Brandon Williams barely missed the defensive line group.
Hope you enjoy the picks!
