2022 Packers Schedule: Analyzing Wins And Losses

With the 2022 NFL regular season getting closer and closer to Week one, it’s time to analyze the Packers’ schedule. Who will win and who will lose?

After posting three consecutive 13-win seasons, can the Packers do it again without Davante Adams? Ever since Matt LaFleur joined the Packers in 2019, they have been consistent but this year will be different. Throughout the article, I will analyze each game on the Packers 2022 schedule and identify my projections for wins and losses. Luckily, this year the schedule seems easier than in previous years.

Packers Games Weeks One Through Six

Week One: Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings – Loss

With a lot of young talent this year, the first few games will be rough. Since Green Bay will be traveling to a Vikings squad that didn’t lose much on offense, I give them the win.

Week Two: Green Bay Packers versus Chicago Bears – Win

The Bears look rough this year and I believe they will be fourth in the NFC North. With that said, chalk up a win for the Green and Gold.

Week Three: Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Loss

This game could go either way. With the Buccaneers still tending to a few injuries in Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, and Ryan Jensen, this could be the perfect storm. The young versus the injured. Both teams will have Hall of Fame quarterbacks but you still need players to catch the ball.

Week Four: Green Bay Packers versus New England Patriots – Win

I haven’t been able to get a good read on the Patriots this off-season. It’s hard to tell if they’ll do well or not with the coaching changes and player rotations. If the Green Bay defense can stall out their rush offense, this should be a quick game.

Week Five: Green Bay Packers versus New York Giants (London) – Win

Week five will bring both teams overseas to the London stadium where there is no true home advantage. This is the part of the season when the Packers will start to click and get ready to go on a winning streak.

Week Six: Green Bay Packers versus New York Jets – Win

Normally, I’d say hey, it’s the Jets but they added a lot of fire-power this off-season on offense and defense. Even with the flashy rookies on offense, this could still be a poor season once again for the Jets. I’m not worried at all about the Jets this season.

Packers Games Weeks Seven Through 12

Week Seven: Green Bay Packers at Washington Commanders – Win

It’s sad when no one shows up to your team’s training camp. The Commanders didn’t have many fans watch them at camp this year, must be a sign for what’s to come this year.

Week Eight: Green Bay Packers at Buffalo Bills – Loss

The Bills have been on a tear ever since Stefon Diggs joined the team. The emergence of Gabriel Davis and the drafting of James Cook should be a scary combo this year. The Bills’ defense is top five in the league and that’s the reason behind the Packers’ loss this season.

Week Nine: Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions – Win

There’s no doubt that the Lions have a better squad this year but their health is something to watch, especially in the middle of the season. Even though the game is in Ford Field, the team should be a fine-tuned machine and win by seven plus.

Week Ten: Green Bay Packers versus Dallas Cowboys – Win

There’s nothing like a warm weather team traveling to a northern stadium just as it starts to get cold. November can be a chilly month in Green Bay and when it is, the team will reign supreme. The Cowboys are another team that’s battling injuries right now.

Week 11: Green Bay Packers versus Tennessee Titans – Win

The issue last year was that the team’s defense had a tough time stopping the run. This year should be different with the newly acquired players filling the gap. The Titans are a run-first offense. If you stop the run, you win the game. Ryan Tannehill is a solid quarterback but after the trade of AJ Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles, the wide receiver room got a lot less attractive.

Week 12: Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles – Win

Speaking of the Eagles, the receiving corps is looking tough. The rushing attack that fell apart last year might still be a mess this year. All eyes will be on the consistency of Jalen Hurts, which I would compare to Jordan Love. I expect the Packers’ secondary to feast on the aerial attack of the Eagles.

Packers Games Weeks 13 Through 18

Week 13: Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears – Win

Similar to Week two, I don’t expect much from the Bears this season and I might even bet under on their total wins. The chemistry is off and it looks like a rebuilding year for the team.

Week 14: Bye Week

I like and dislike a late bye week. I dislike it because the guys are out there 13 weeks straight without rest and injuries might happen. I like it because once the offense moves as one unit, the wins can start flying off the shelf.

Week 15: Green Bay Packers versus Los Angeles Rams – Loss

Just like the Buccaneers in Week three, this game can go either way. The Rams continue to pile on both sides of the ball while also somehow staying under the cap space. As long as Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp stay healthy, they could be Super Bowl bound again.

Week 16: Green Bay Packers at Miami Dolphins – Win

The Dolphins’ season will come down to how well Tua Tagovailoa performs. Tua now has the weapons to excel but if he has poor decision-making, opposing defenses will take control. Jaylen Waddle played amazing last year and Tyreek Hill was picked up in the off-season to create a one-two punch in the receiving core. The speed of the Tyreek is my only fear.

Week 17: Green Bay Packers versus Minnesota Vikings – Win

Home games against NFC North opponents in the Frozen Tundra are tough. This will be an important week though, as both teams should be in contention for the North as well as a playoff spot. It’s hard to bet against the Packers at home in January.

Week 18: Green Bay Packers versus Detroit Lions – Win

This game can go either way but is not similar to the Buccaneers and Rams. If the team has already punched their ticket to the post-season and won the North before this game, Jordan Love may be the starting quarterback while the starters rest. If the starters for the Pack play, it’ll be a win.

Packers 2022 Schedule Recap

It must be fate that my analysis matches the same record as last year. Based on data and win-loss scenarios, I project that Green Bay will go 13-4 this season. There are a couple of games that can go either way to move the total wins up or down. With the current roster, I’d stay away from a 15-plus season because of the offense but if it happens, I won’t complain.
