The Philadelphia Eagles made 10 selections in the 2025 NFL Draft. The reigning, defending Super Bowl champions spent one of their four fifth-round draft picks to move up one spot and draft hybrid linebacker Jahaad Campbell in the first round. The Eagles only made one selection on Day 2, Texas safety Andrew Mukuba. Let’s look at the impact the 2025 NFL Draft will have on the Eagles next season.
Eagles Find Streak Comes To AnEnd
The Campbell pick at No. 31ends a 46-year span in which the Eagles didn’t select a linebacker in the first round. Once believed to be the least valued position in football by the organization, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio may be changing the way linebackers are valued in Philadelphia. Alabama recruited Campbell as a pass rusher out of high school, and he played about 100 snaps at that position last season. That versatility will draw comparisons to all-pro teammate Zack Baun and allow Fangio to get even more creative in his scheme.

That Fangio scheme also fits Mukuba perfectly. The cover safety’s tackling ability and natural instincts should help ease the transition from Chauncey Gardner-Johnson. No second-round pick is perfect, however, and there are concerns about his size. His 5-foot-11, 186-pound frame puts him in the first percentile for weight among NFL safeties since 1999, and 94 percent have had longer arms than him.
Eagles Draft New QB, Tackle Prospect On Day 3

Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord was drafted 181st overall in the sixth round. The St. Joe’s Prep alum gets to play for his childhood team. McCord is not a mobile QB. He loves to rip the ball deep and get aggressive, similar to Eagles backup Tanner McKee. The Eagles also acquired Dorian Thompson-Robinson in the Kenny Pickett trade this offseason. If McCord beats out DTR in camp, then that would give the Eagles two backups with very different playstyles than starter Jalen Hurts.
Offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland gets two new projects on Day 3 in Cameron Williams and Myles Hinton. Hinton has the NFL bloodlines and never really reached his potential at Michigan. Williams only started 16 games while at Texas, but is believed to have more raw talent. His massive 11 3/8″ hands could help him eventually replace Hall of Fame right tackle Lane Johnson.
End Of My Eagles Draft Rant
All around, it was a seemingly decent and productive draft for the Eagles. Two defensive players who are talented enough and have the opportunity to start are an excellent result after winning the Super Bowl. Fourth-round pick defensive tackle Ty Robinson has super fun tape and should be in the defensive line rotation this season, too. Mac McWilliams, the fifth-round pick out of Central Florida, has a chance to start in the slot.
The Eagles quietly lost a ton of defensive production this offseason, and they used the bulk of their draft resources attempting to replace it. This summer, keep an eye on what position group Campbell is practicing with each day, as well as the position battles for slot corner and the second safety spot. As long as the players buy into the Fangio system like they did in 2024, the Eagles should be the team to beat in the NFC.
