Penta won the men’s ladder match at WWE Money in the Bank on Oct. tenth at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. The luchador won by hitting Bron Breakker with a Mexican Destroyer onto a bridged ladder, in a field that also included CM Punk, Kevin Owens, Je’Von Evans, and Trick Williams. The contract gives the winner a world championship match at a time of his choosing within the next year. The briefcase is the first of Penta’s career.
Less than a month before New Orleans, Penta lost to Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship on the Sept. 14 Raw in Mexico City. The challenger injured the champion’s right arm with the Sacrifice. Reigns still won, catching Penta with a Superman Punch out of a springboard attempt and hitting a Spear.
Reigns is advertised for Survivor Series: WarGames on Nov. 28 at Daikin Park in Houston. The Bloodline and The 946 have been feuding on Raw since August, and WWE has not announced the WarGames teams. Reigns also faces Sami Zayn at Crown Jewel three weeks earlier.
The contract is not limited to Raw. Zayn holds the Undisputed WWE Championship on SmackDown and faces Reigns for the men’s Crown Jewel Championship on Nov. 7 in Riyadh. In past years, the Crown Jewel Championship match has not put the world titles on the line.
Penta has already crossed paths with Zayn on SmackDown. On the Oct. second episode, Penta, Evans, and Williams were among the wrestlers who interrupted a Zayn segment. A week later, the Undisputed WWE Champion warned Punk and Owens that cashing in on him would not be easy.
Penta earned the Mexico City title shot by beating his brother, Rey Fenix, in the final of a No. One contender’s tournament on Aug. 31. Afterward, Penta helped Fenix to his feet and raised Fenix’s arm. Reigns then came to the ring holding the World Heavyweight Championship.
The brothers held the AEW World Tag Team Championship together as the Lucha Brothers before arriving in WWE. Fenix at ringside would give Penta backup against any Bloodline interference. Chad Gable, who took the Intercontinental Championship from Penta at SummerSlam, also beat Fenix in a title match on the Oct. 12 Raw.
WrestleMania 43 takes place April 10 and 11, 2027, in Riyadh. Penta’s contract runs until October 2027, so the show falls inside the window. Seth Rollins cashed in during the WrestleMania 31 main event, turning it into a triple threat and winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Holding the briefcase until April would keep the threat alive through the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber. Penta held the Intercontinental Championship for about five months in 2026, with nine title defenses. WrestleMania 43 will be held in Riyadh, the same city that hosts Crown Jewel on Nov. seventh.
Rob Van Dam made the announced cash-in famous in 2006. The ECW original told John Cena about the planned cash-in at ECW One Night Stand, then won the WWE Championship from him in front of a hostile Hammerstein Ballroom crowd. The approach turned the contract into a promoted main event instead of an ambush.
Penta’s catchphrase is Zero Miedo, which means “zero fear.” After the tournament final, the luchador answered Reigns with the Zero Miedo gesture. Penta has also faced Reigns head-on once already, in Mexico City.

Penta should cash in on Reigns at Survivor Series, right after WarGames. The Tribal Chief beat Penta in Mexico City, and a rematch on a level playing field would likely end the same way. WarGames is the one night when Reigns is guaranteed to be hurt, tired, and surrounded by chaos. Houston is the perfect place to steal the title.
The Zayn route is a backup option, not the main plan. Penta has spent his WWE run chasing the Intercontinental Championship and then Reigns on Raw. Winning the World Heavyweight Championship from the man who beat him would finish the story Mexico City started.
Holding the briefcase until WrestleMania 43 is tempting, but the contract carries more danger for Penta the longer he waits. Breakker and The Vision have already shown they will come after anyone with a target on his back. The luchador has no reason to fear the moment, and Zero Miedo should mean cashing in sooner, not later.
