This NHL rumors recap will go through three of the biggest rumors that have been shared over the past week. The NHL offseason has been crazy, and it could continue that trend with some of these rumors. The teams featured today are the Chicago Blackhawks, Montreal Canadians, and Winnipeg Jets.

Chicago Blackhawks

Connor Bedard Wants Patrick Kane Back In Chicago

Rumors around a potential Kane reunion started coming up about a week ago. Once these rumors reached the Blackhawks’ young star, he made the following comments.

“I hope so. I don’t know what I can say to persuade his decision, but we’d all obviously be so excited to have a player like that, but also a guy like that.”

Kane built a Hall of Fame career in Chicago. It lasted 16 seasons and featured him scoring more than 1200 points. He brought three Stanley Cup Championships to the Blackhawks organization.

Montreal Canadiens

Kirill Marchenko Remains Connected To Montreal

The Canadiens were unsuccessful when trying to acquire Marchenko earlier in the offseason, but apparently their pursuit is still ongoing. He scored 67 points in 76 games last season. The rumors indicate that this may go into the season and closer to the trade deadline.

NHL analyst Marco D’Amico was the leading source of this rumor, re-connecting the two sides.

Winnipeg Jets

Connor Hellebuyck Trade Speculation

The feeling right now in terms of a Hellebuyck trade is that it is the Buffalo Sabres as the front runners, with a wide gap to the next suitor. They appear to be the preferred team for the star Goalie and have been putting together trade packages trying to get it across the finish line. Talks reportedly stalled after the 2026 NHL draft, but recent rumors indicate a deal could come soon.

Teams outside of the Sabres who could realistically trade for Hellebuyck:

  • Vegas Golden Knights
  • Detroit Red Wings
  • Carolina Hurricanes

End Of My NHL Rumors Rant
