NFL Week Five has come to a close. Let’s dive into all the action from this past week.
The Buccaneers dry spell is OVER. Thursday Night Football was a glorious win for Tampa Bay in Dallas. Some key plays produced by the Buccaneers for their first victory were: Bucky Irving’s 72-yard run and a 3rd and 21 conversion by QB Jalon Daniels to Emeka Egbuka. Speaking of Jalon Daniels, what a start for the undrafted rookie. He played an incredible game, and the rest of the offense really stepped up for the 24-16 win against the Cowboys.

Last Seconds Win
The London Games continued this week with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles going head to head. The Eagles thought they had the game secured at 17-16 with 8 seconds left at kick off. However, the Jaguars Kickoff returner ran that ball all the way to the 39 yard line and their kicker, Cam Little, shot up a 57-yard field goal to win it all. Talk about a rollercoaster of emotions for each team in the final 8 seconds. Jacksonville takes the win 19-17 and improves to 4-1.
AND EVERY GAME ENDS IN A TIE
This one-liner from Billy Crystal’s Parental Guidance perfectly explains the match up between the Washington Commanders and New York Giants. As if the game wasn’t neck in neck enough, the teams brought the game to overtime.
However, the title gives it away…these teams tied in overtime with a score of 27-27. I’m sure Commanders fans are a little tiffed with Dan Quinn’s play calling skills. The Commanders could have recognized the time on the clock, and could’ve EASILY taken the win with a field goal in the final seconds. Why Quinn decided to not is beyond the spectators beliefs.
The last NFL game to end in a tie was on September 28th, 2025 between the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers.
The Bears Get Hunted Down
The NFC North Match Up like no other. What was predicted to be a great game turned into a shredding. The Green Bay Packers took down the Chicago Bears 31-7. Jordan Love had an extraordinary game going 25/31 with 367 yards and 2 touchdowns. Christian Watson mirrored the success of Love’s stats by having 6 receptions, 143 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Bears will have to redeem themselves next week against the Falcons and the Packers will take on the 2-3 Cowboys.

Lions Snatch the Cardinals (45-21)
Traveling down to sunny Arizona, the Cardinals hosted the Detroit Lions for an afternoon matchup. The Cardinals have had a little rough start to the season coming in at 1-3, and the Lions having a split season at 2-2. However, it’d seem the ending of this game would be the confidence boost the Lions need to keep chugging along for the remainder of the season.
Top players of this game go to: Jared Goff, who went 19/30, 271, and 3 touchdowns. Jahmyr Gibbs, who carried 25 times for a total of 151 yards and 2 touchdowns. Sam LaPorta, who had 8 receptions for 88 yards and 1 touchdown. Also, can we highlight this as a standout game for Jameson Williams? The guy came out with 2 touchdowns that evening. The first touchdowns for him in the 2026 season!
A Sunday Night Match Up
Week Five Sunday Night Football took us down south to Atlanta, Georgia where the Falcons took on the Ravens. The birds versus the birds if you would.
A steady game throughout the four quarters kept each team on their toes, anxious for a win. Within the final seconds of the 4th quarter, Huntley completed a 7 yard pass to Walker for a touchdown and Henry rushed in the 2-point conversion to tie up the game. Moving into overtime, a quarterback keep for the Ravens pushed the first touchdown, and Kyle Hamilton would go on to intercept the ball and secure the win over the Falcons, 30-23.
Monday Night Madness
Like most of the games of week five, the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams put on a nail-biter. With constant back and forth game play in the second half, the Rams and Bills take it into overtime at 34-34. After each team having possession, the Bills would take the win 37-34 with a field goal.
Our star performers tonight for the Bills were: Josh Allen with 12/19 completions with 210 yards, 121 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns . Khalil Shakir with 3 receptions and 80 yards.
As for the Rams, Matthew Stanford had another outstanding performance with 383 yards over 40 completed passes and 3 touchdowns. Kyren Williams with 16 carries running 49 yards and 1 touchdown. Puca Nacua also had his season opener consisting of 17 receptions for 138 yards and 1 touchdown.
End Of My NFL Week Five Rant
The final results of the NFL Week Five puts the following teams continuing in the “undefeated” position:
- Kansas City Chiefs
- Minnesota Vikings
- San Francisco 49ers
The following teams have been fighting hard, but still can’t pull a win:
- Miami Dolphins
- Tennessee Titans
- Los Angeles Chargers
The NFC North continues being the highest ranked division game winners out of the entire league at 14 wins. Right behind them is the AFC North securing 13 wins this season.
We approach our second round of “Bye” weeks with the Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, and the Minnesota Vikings taking a break. It might allow Miami to start getting creative and breakthroughs on how to improve moving forward. We’ll also have to see if the NFC North can hold down the winning fort with 2/4 teams on “Bye” this week.
Tune in next week for the NFL Week Six recap.
