The second game of the NFL Christmas double-header on Netflix will see the Houston Texans host the Baltimore Ravens. Two teams that have already cemented a playoff birth clash in this class offense versus defense matchup.
The Ravens have arguably the best offense in the league, but will need some help from the Steelers if they want to win the AFC North. Batlimore’s achiles heel has been their 31st ranked pass defense. As poor as the defense has been, the offense, headlined by quarterback Lamar Jackson and runningback Derrick Henry, have overcome this weakness to an average scoring margin of +6.9. As potent as the offense is, the defense will have to step up considering the long road ahead through the AFC for the Baltimore Ravens.
The Texans have clinched the AFC South and have nothing left to play for outside of prepping for the playoffs. That being said, they will need to use this time to sort out their offense after losing wide receiver Tank Dell last week and wide receiver Stefon Diggs earlier in the season. Houston has claimed wide receiver Dionte Johnson off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens and will look to pick up the pieces heading into the playoffs.
Bodog has the Ravens as -5.5 point favorites at the time of writing this. The Texans have a chance to cover that spread with their top-ten defense, but their offense was always going to be trouble keeping up with Baltimore, even with a healthy roster. The Texans will look for their defense to keep them close while hoping for someone to step up on offense. The Ravens offense is Elite, and their defense will not have the full power of the Texans to worry about.
