It’s time for the Week 15 Edition of NFL Sunday Night Football. This week we get to see the Seattle Seahawks host the Green Bay Packers. The battle for the final few spots in the playoff is really tight in the NFC and it’s going to be exciting to watch down the stretch.
Green Bay enters this one in an interesting spot being one game ahead of the Seahawks who lead the NFC West but yet the Packers find themselves third in the NFC North. The offense has put up impressive numbers this season by averaging almost 27 points per game and an even better 33 over the last three. They have also proven to be able to do it against any defense and quarterback Jordan Love seems to be making better decisions lately. After throwing for 11 interceptions this season he hasn’t had one in the last three games.
The offense has certainly been the star of the show but the defense has been more than adequate. The biggest weakness may be the 22nd ranked pass defense but overall they have only allowed an average of 21.1 points per game which lands them in the top ten. With the Detroit Lions and Minnisota Vikings fighting for the top spot in the NFC North Green Bay seems to be a potent wild card hopeful.
Seattle is currently first in the NFC West but only two games ahead of the fourth place 49ers. The Seahawks have been solid but not great on both sides of the ball resulting in the 13th rank total offense and 18th rank total defense. The offense has been hit-or-miss this season scoring anywhere from ten points to 34. While Seattle has proven to be a scrappy team this season their ceiling doesn’t appear to be a Super Bowl.
Typically I look for an avenue for both teams in my preview articles but the Seahawks are in tough. Not only does Seattle have better stats on the road they rank below the Packers on both offense and defense. Bodog has Green Bay as -2.5 point favorites at the time of writing this article and I’m going to grab that before it goes to -3.0. Give me the team with upside over the scrappy but inconsistent team.
