NFL week 1 is finally complete. Multiple “in conference” match ups, rival upsets and shocking losses. Thursday night the 49ers upset the Rams in Australia (27-7).
Could it have been playing on the opposite side of the world for the turn out of this game? The 49ers having a full week of adjustment to the time-zone compared to the Rams? Who’s to tell, but we know when they revisit later this season, the Rams will be HUNGRY for a win.
The Bears crushing the Panthers in the highest-scoring game of week 1 in NFL history (59-37). This record was previously held by the Buccaneers steamrolling the Saints in 2018. (48-40)
The Lions took the Saints in a nail-biting overtime and winning by 1 point (31-30), thanks to a missed field goal kick from a penalty pushback.
The Bills triumphing over the Texans (36-31), where for the second time in the Bills franchise history, a receiver and tight end had over 100 receiving yards. A successful 11-yard Hook & Ladder by Josh Allen, Keon Coleman & Ty Johnson. I don’t know about you, but this play always reminds me of the movie “Varsity Blues” and good ole Billy Bob!
New York Giants conquering the Cowboys in Sunday Night Football (28-20). Talk about the “Lucky number 7” points each quarter for the Giants.
The Vikings making an INSANE comeback against the Packers (39-22). A 22-point 4th quarter is what assisted the Vikings in this conquer.
The Cardinals were being called the underdogs of all the teams, and stood their ground of who and what they could prove to the world.
Jalen Hurts’ showcase vs the Commanders with 3 touchdowns and a 22 yard scramble down the field. He’s vying to stay as relevant as possible for a seven year vet QB, and can always count on him to create a performance for us to continue wanting more. The Eagles taking a 2-point win against the Commanders (24-22). Though Washington fought HARD and pushed 13 points that last quarter, their 1 minute left game, 2-point conversion was denied by the Eagle’s Moro Ojomo.
Chiefs steamrolling through the Broncos (31-10). Talk about a term of shock for last year’s AFC West’s Champions. The Chiefs came in this game with a STRONG desire to win and reclaim their throne. This will be a fun rematch to watch further in the season.
What are some key plays or news you may have experienced in the moment or missed and are catching up?
Sam Darnold’s hip injury putting him out for at least week 2. This essentially turned out to be a unique soft-tissue injury. We send the Super Bowl QB Champ well wishes and a speedy recovery.
Drake Maye’s final seconds interception that could have been a tying Field Goal attempt. Why in the world would Mike Vrbal choose that risk SO close to the ending of a close game. Is he trying to take a page out of Dan Campbell’s book?
Quay Walker snagging a fumble for 63 yards for the Raiders ultimately leading to the take down of the Miami Dolphins.
Kenneth Walker III’s 60 yard rushing touchdown on a 4th and 1. New season, new team, still showing the same results. Was anyone else overly confused at to this trade at the beginning of the year?!

The NFC West, NFC North, and AFC North all holding the most wins in the conferences. Is this an insight to what the rest of the season will be? Can these conferences continue to be superior over the rest? Who will continue on this “undefeated” title?
