Week Twelve of the 2024 NFL season is here. As always, I will start by discussing the rules for a survivor pool. It is a weekly contest where people select one team per week, straight up, to win their game.
If a chosen team wins, it advances to the next week, but remember that the selected team can’t be used for the rest of the season. If a team they chose for that week loses, it is eliminated from the pool.
Now that the rules are set, it is time for me to give my top three options: a risky pick, a trap pick, and a survivor pick that I would have made if I were still alive in Survivor. It would have been nice for Cincinnati to prepare for their first regular-season game.
1). Kansas City Chiefs (At Carolina Panthers)

I mean, should we have to explain this one? The Kansas City Chiefs are the best team in the NFL, but they are facing one of the worst teams. It doesn’t matter if the Chiefs are not the home team and Carolina is coming off a bye week. They should take care of business and continue showing dominance in the NFL.
2). Washington Commanders (As Dallas Cowboys)

I hate making divisional games the top option in survivor pools, but Dallas’s season is pretty much done. The offense has gotten worse since Dak Prescott suffered his Hamstring injury. Honestly, it makes zero sense why Cooper Rush is starting over Trey Lance at this point. They need to put Lance in, especially considering how terrible Cooper Rush played against the Texans.
To make it worse, the injury bug has hit the offensive lineman. The Cowboys lost half of their starting offensive linemen against the Cowboys, and with how great Washington’s pass rush is, it’s going to be a long day.
While it’s clear Jayden Daniels isn’t 100% healthy, he should take care of business against a Dallas team that has quit on their coach. Why is Mike McCarthy still here again?
3). Denver Broncos vs Las Vegas Raiders

Again, I hate division games in survivor pools, but the Las Vegas Raiders are legit one of the worst teams in the NFL. They might be the worst-coached team not named the Chicago Bears and Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL. I am a Gardner Minshew fan, but he is getting no help from this terrible offensive line, and excluding Brock Bowers, Vegas has no good receivers. The Raiders defense is awful too, and with Bo Nix on a hot streak, he should do well like he did in Week 5 against this team.
Risky Pick – Houston Texans vs Tennessee Titans

The Texans have been a fraudulent team, losing to the Jets, and collapsing a 23 – 7 lead against the Lions. Well, this week the Texans get to face the Titans. Tennessee is a bad football team, but with how untrustworthy the Texans are, they have to be a risky pick until proven otherwise. Yes, they easily beat Dallas, but the Texans were mostly sloppy in that game. The Texans should beat the Titans, but be careful choosing a team that defines the word risky this season. The unbolded text are the games I got wrong.
2024 Risky Survivor Pick History (7-4) – Week 1: Minnesota Vikings, Week 2: Washington Commanders, Week 3: San Francisco 49ers, Week 4: Tennessee Titans, Week 5: New England Patriots, Week 6: Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Week 7: Jacksonville Jaguars, Week 8: Arizona Cardinals, Week 9: New Orleans Saints, Week 10: New York Giants, Week 11: Green Bay Packers
Trap Pick – Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New York Giants

Tampa Bay has been a lackluster team. They have been heavily exposed by losing their last four games. This feels like a get-right spot for any team in the NFL playing against the terrible New York Giants. However, this game has a trap written all over it.
The Buccaneers are not the home team, and the Giants are coming off a bye week, so, the Giants have had extra time to prepare for this game. The big change is, that the Giants are finally benching Daniel Jones this game for Tommy DeVito. This is about time, as Jones has looked lost all season, and I’ve said since last year DeVito is better than Jones. What a waste of cap space bringing in Drew Lock in the offseason.
Stay away from the trap and avoid Tampa Bay this week. If you want to choose the Buccaneers in Survivor, guess what, they face the Carolina Panthers twice, and face the Las Vegas Raiders later in the week as well. It’s better to save them if you can.
2024 Trap Survivor Pick History (4-7) – Week 1: Buffalo Bills, Week 2: Indianapolis Colts, Week 3: Seattle Seahawks, Week 4: Philadelphia Eagles, Week 5: Chicago Bears, Week 6: Buffalo Bills, Week 7: Cincinnati Bengals, Week 8: New York Jets, Week 9: Baltimore Ravens, Week 10: Philadelphia Eagles, Week 11: New York Jets
Who I Would Have Taken in Survivor – Kansas City Chiefs

Well, I can’t use the Denver Broncos as my survivor as I used them in Week 8. The Texans are too risky of a pick to make, so I would not have used them. If they’re available, Week 15 against the Miami Dolphins is an interesting option. This pick came down to the Washington Commanders or Kansas City Chiefs.
The Commanders are an intriguing choice, but they’re much more intriguing next week against the Titans. I would have burned the Kansas City Chiefs this week for my NFL survivor pick. This is the best week to use them, excluding Week 13 against Las Vegas and Week 15 against Cleveland. I would have just survived and advanced here.
2024 My Survivor Pick History (6-5) – Week 1: Cincinnati Bengals, Week 2: Los Angeles Chargers, Week 3: Las Vegas Raiders, Week 4: Tennessee Titans, Week 5: New England Patriots, Week 6: Philadelphia Eagles, Week 7: Los Angeles Rams, Week 8: Denver Broncos, Week 9: New Orleans Saints, Week 10: Chicago Bears, Week 11: Detroit Lions
