The 2026 NFL Draft has come and gone. We’re officially in the thick of the offseason, and every team is preparing for the race to Super Bowl LXI. There were some high-level athletes taken in the Draft, but who has the highest ceiling? Here are the NFL rookies with the greatest chance to succeed in their first year.

5. Jadarian Price, RB, Seattle Seahawks

Jadarian Price was the clear number two in this Draft, in terms of running backs. His teammate, Jeremiyah Love, was taken third overall, and he followed at pick 32.

The Seahawks lost Zach Charbonnet to a torn ACL in January, and he’ll miss a large chunk of the season. They also lost Super Bowl LX MVP, Kenneth Walker III, in free agency to the Kansas City Chiefs. They may have found a running back who can come in and immediately make an impact.

Price largely served as Love’s backup in college, but he still recorded stats worthy of a top-50 pick. In 41 career games, he rushed 280 times for 1,692 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Filling Walker’s shoes won’t be easy, but Price may be the man for the job. Outside of Love, he was the most pro-ready RB in the Draft and joins the reigning Super Bowl champions. He won’t need to carry the loaded offense; he’ll just need to make the most out of his opportunities.

4. Carnell Tate, WR, Tennessee Titans

It was clear from the moment Cam Ward put on a Titans jersey that he needed a true number one target. The 2025 first-overall pick showed a ton of talent in an extremely limited offense. His new favorite target just walked in the door with the fourth-overall pick.

There’s some speculation on whether Carnell Tate can be a WR1 in the NFL, but he certainly has the skillset to do it. In 39 games at Ohio State, he recorded 121 catches for 1,872 yards and 14 touchdowns.

The caveat with Tate is that he was never truly given the reins at Ohio State. He’s shared a locker room with Marvin Harrison Jr., Emeka Egbuka, and Jeremiah Smith. Wide Receiver U is a nice place to be, but you could also get lost in the shuffle.

Tate now joins Calvin Ridley, Wan’Dale Robinson, and Chimere Dike in Tennessee. He has deep-ball ability that could put him right above those three. Don’t be surprised if he shows up and shows out in his rookie season.

3. Francis Mauigoa, OL, New York Giants

The Giants selected Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese with the fifth-overall pick. He’ll have a successful career, but he may take some time to settle into a complex role under John Harbaugh and Dennard Wilson. At 10th overall, New York selected Miami’s offensive lineman, Francis Mauigoa.

Mauigoa’s intentions were clear ahead of the Draft; he wanted to transition to offensive guard. His size and strength on the interior line are just what the Giants needed in 2026. In 826 snaps as an offensive tackle, he allowed only two sacks at Miami.

The Giants’ offensive line greatly improved last season, largely thanks to Andrew Thomas and Jermaine Eluemunor. The two tackles were among the best in the NFL, but the guard position needed an upgrade.

Mauigoa may take time to adjust to a new role, but he’s had countless reps at guard in practice. The three-year starter has prepared for the position change, and his experience could serve well in a swing-tackle role.

2. Kayden McDonald, DT, Houston Texans

What happens when you take a behemoth of a defensive tackle and add him to the top NFL defense? The Texans drafted Ohio State’s Kayden McDonald 36th overall, and he has “superstar” written all over him.

McDonald stands at 6’2” and 326 pounds. He’s a dominant run defender who produces tackles for loss (TFLs) at an impressive rate. In 2025, he recorded 31 solo tackles, three sacks, and nine TFLs.

The Texans’ defense is already an offensive coordinator’s worst nightmare. They were first in the NFL in total yards allowed per game (277.2), and fourth in rush yards allowed per game (93.7). Adding a player like McDonald will only improve those numbers.

Houston also signed safety Reed Blankenship in free agency, strengthening an already dominant secondary. The offense still remains questionable, but a defense like this is perfect for McDonald to shine in his rookie year.

1. Mansoor Delane, CB, Kansas City Chiefs

Speaking of star-making defenses, the Chiefs drafted the number one cornerback in the Draft, Mansoor Delane. They traded up to sixth overall for the LSU standout, and it’s a dream scenario for both parties.

Delane spent three seasons at Virginia Tech before transferring to LSU in 2025. In 44 career games, he recorded 108 solo tackles, seven TFLs, eight interceptions, and 27 passes defensed.

The Chiefs’ defensive coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo, is one of the greatest to ever stand on an NFL sideline. He’s a four-time Super Bowl champion, the only coordinator in history to hit that number. He seemingly has an ability to create magic with anybody on the field.

A top 10 Draft pick learning the NFL system under Spagnuolo nearly guarantees success. Delane has all the potential in the world, and it’ll quickly be unlocked in Kansas City. If you need further proof, look at Trent McDuffie’s career.

End Of My NFL Rant

The 2025 NFL season was a complete rollercoaster. Nothing made sense, and it was the most unpredictable season in recent memory. It’s hard to point to a team that had a “bad” Draft this year. New stars are about to grace the field at the pro-level, and the sky is the limit in 2026.
