This episode of WWE Raw was the go-home show for Clash in Italy this Sunday. Exactly how would they set up the show?
Paul Heyman opened WWE Raw with an in-ring promo for “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar Vs. “The Ruler” Oba Femi. The two will face off this weekend at Clash in Italy. Heyman threw to a vignette of Lesnar, and Femi interrupted afterward.
Femi used Heyman as a clipboard to sign the contract for the match. The Ruler plans on retiring Lesnar for a second time.
WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta put his title on the line against “The Young OG” Je’Von Evans. While there wasn’t any old-school, mat style wrestling, the pace was quick, and the reversals were unreal. Following a flurry of reversals, Penta pulled out the win once he hit a Mexican destroyer.
Upon learning that one-half of the WWE World Tag Team Champions, “The Maverick” Logan Paul, will be out for an extended period, his tag partner, Austin Theory, tried to hand in his belt to Heyman. Little did Theory know that all of the contracts said The Vision, and could sub in Bron Breakker.
Theory stated his mission to destroy anyone who ever tried to hurt his tag partner, starting with Joe Hendry, was on in the ring, singing a song. Theory hit Hendry with numerous vicious chair shots.
WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio accompanied The Judgement Day’s Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodrigues in a tag match against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria. Morgan tried to aid her allies, but for the second consecutive week, was kicked from ringside. Mysterio tried to fill her shoes, but it backfired. Bayley pinned Perez for the win.
LA Knight went to the ring and grabbed a microphone. He announced his entry into the upcoming King of the Ring tournament. He intends to win and go on to face “The OTC” Roman Reigns for his WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Jimmy Uso interrupted to warn Knight that he should stop disrespecting The Bloodline.
Knight didn’t fold. In short, he’s only got a problem with Reigns, but he’s got no problem going through The Bloodline to do so.
Seth Rollins versus Montez Ford was next. Ford’s tag partner in the Street Profits, Angelo Dawkings, has been trying to convince him of Rollins’ validity as a babyface, but it hasn’t been hitting home.
The match featured some wild feats of athleticism, even if they’d been seen before. Rollins narrowly avoided a 450-splash before hitting a stomp for the victory.
Following the match, Theory smashed Dawkins with a steel chair through the gorilla area, onto the entrance ramp. When the show returned from commercial break, Rollins and Ford agreed to work together.
WWE Hall of Famer and new general manager of AAA, Rey Mysterio, had a match with “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev to determine the number one contender for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. “All Ego” Ethan Page joined the commentary team at ringside. Mysterio picked up the victory of a run-of-the-mill match for WWE Raw, but was attacked by his opponent after the bell.
Dragon Lee rushed to aid Mysterio, while Page tried to insert himself. The luchadores were on top at the end of the segment.
General manager Adam Pearce took the ring for the contract signing between “The Samoan Werewolf” Jacob Fatu and Reigns. The match is this Sunday at Clash in Italy, and the stakes are raised for this Tribal Combat match. In short, it’s a no-disqualification match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, along with becoming the head of the table. The segment was uneventful, outside of agreeing on the terms.
