Football is awash with news that Napoli are attempting to sign Manchester United‘s exciting young winger, Garnacho. The idea of Garnacho joining Italy also fits a recent Premier League trend of players, especially those who failed in England, making themselves great again in Serie A. Following disappointing spells at United and Chelsea, has repeatedly thrived at Inter, Roma, and now possibly Napoli.
This trend indicates that Serie A’s tactical and less physically demanding nature may provide a better setting for players like Garnacho. It allows them to develop their skills and gain confidence outside the fierce glare of the Premier League. The potential to combine with seasoned and creative players like Kevin De Bruyne, who has also joined Napoli, is a highly positive development for Garnacho.
The alleged £45 million offer for Garnacho is a compelling crossroads for everyone. Napoli is a risk on a whiz kid at a possible bargain price, driven by the conviction that they can extract his full potential. For Manchester United, it’s a hard but possibly wise decision to sell a player whose attitude and consistency have become an issue, even at the cost of settling for less than they want.
