If that wasn’t enough, his iconic number 10 shirt has already been handed over to new signing Matheus Cunha, in effect all but sealing his imminent departure. United have even placed a £40 million valuation on the 27-year-old, a price Barcelona does not want to pay. They prioritize loan deal due his enormous £300,000-a-week wage.
Liverpool, just having experienced a frantic transfer period in which they have signed Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez, are now determined to sign a fresh forward. This has prompted Liverpool to cast their net wider, and their shortlist of possible alternatives is where things get fascinating.
Rashford was floated as an idea in transfer negotiations at Anfield, which has sent shockwaves. While there are suggestions that “nothing progressed beyond that” and any purchase of the Manchester United attacker is “seen as hugely unrealistic,” this rumor has sent shockwaves.

While Rashford’s United history is far behind him now, he has been linked with Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and even the Saudi Pro League. However, a move to Liverpool is too great a leap into fantasy.
Let’s be categorically clear: Rashford to Liverpool is not on. As much as the idea may be ongoing grist for the rumormill and banner headlines, it just reads too much into the long history of ill feeling between these two clubs and Rashford’s commitment to the club. Liverpool’s so-called “idea” of going after him was most likely pure fantasy, but it quickly dropped. Rashford’s future is elsewhere from Old Trafford, but that much is certain. However, it will not be at Anfield. Some lines in football cannot, and should not, be crossed.
