Manchester United’s woes might come to an end soon. It has been reported that the club is set to give Ruben Amorim around £200m transfer budget. This, however, depends on one condition.
According to The Sun, Manchester United are ready to give Amorim £200m to bring in new players. This comes at a time when there is a lot of doubt around the club’s financial situation. It seems that they will manage just fine.
The £200m might prove crucial to struggling Manchester United. Amorim will have the chance to bring in players that he believes in instead of depending on those already there.
This dream budget comes with one condition. That is the club will first need to sell some players. If they want to bring in fresh blood, they have to let go of a number of players first.
The number of sales is yet to be announced, but there are names that are predicted to leave the club soon.
The list of players who could be sold includes several names. Some of the players expected to say goodbye to the club are Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho, Casemiro, and Christian Eriksen.
There is some doubt around other players too such as Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho. Whether any of the two will leave Manchester United is yet to be seen.
According to The Sun, people at Manchester United are confident that there will be offers for their players.
The lack of good performance might not be an obstacle to finding interested clubs. After all, there are talents at the club even if they aren’t winning at the moment.
Rashford, for example, is expected to make a permanent move to Aston Villa. He has finally started to find his form back after becoming an outcast at United. So a goodbye is possible.
The report also stated that even if Villa didn’t keep Rashford, he will still attract other clubs to swoop in and sign him. Manchester United are reportedly open to sell him for around £45m.
Sancho has also been shining at Chelsea so a move is possible. The club might get a little bit over half of the fee they paid for him which was £73m. Antony too has given one outstanding performance after another so he might stay at Real Betis.
What is clear is that Manchester United needs players who actually impress Amorim. If the club is willing to be patient a little bit longer, maybe the manager will be able to turn things around.
They will first need to qualify for the Champions League if they want to lure players. After all, who would like to go to a struggling club? Probably not many.
It’s quite unfortunate that United can’t seem to win matches or return to their former glory. As someone who loves legendary clubs, I hope that they will be able to fix whatever is going wrong with them.
