Manchester United’s Ruben Amorim wants to sign Sporting CP’s Francisco Trincao, but other clubs are also interested.
Manchester United Is Interested In Trincao
According to The Sun, Manchester United and Amorim prioritize signing a wide player, especially since Marcus Rashford doesn’t seem to return anytime soon.
So far, Amorim has his eyes set on Sporting CP’s Trincao, whose current price is reportedly £35 million.
There Will Be Competition
The publication also reported that United isn’t only interested in Trincao. Other clubs who are eyeing the Portuguese include Newcastle United and Arsenal.
Man Utd will also face competition from Trincao’s former team, Barcelona. The Spanish side still has a buy-back option for the winger worth slightly over £20 million.
Amorim Is Familiar With Trincao
Amorim might depend on the fact that he trained Trincao while at Sporting CP. The Manchester United coach made Trincao’s loan deal permanent then.
This former relationship might influence Trincao’s decision when it’s time for him to make a new move. Or at least this is what Amorim might be hoping for.
Anyone Would Want Trincao
Trianco would be a great addition to any team he joins, not just Manchester United. He scored two goals in Portugal’s match against Denmark in the Nations League.
He can also play on both flanks and was sometimes used in the middle. This diversity appeals to everyone, not just Manchester United.

Barcelona Have A Golden Chance
If Trincao kept performing this well, Barcelona might have to consider buying him back—if they need him, of course.
He could be useful for Hansi Flick’s team, and they might even sell him for a higher price in the future. Then, they would emerge from the situation as winners.
End Of My Manchester United Rant
Whether Manchester United will manage to sign Trincao is yet to be seen. Until any development happens, the team needs to focus on improving their performance.
