NASCAR’s Craftsman Truck Series will get a celebrity boost for the 2025 season. Former Malcolm In The Middle star Frankie Muniz will be in the number 33 truck for Reaume Brothers Racing all season. His first 10 races, his primary sponsor will be More Core Diamond Drilling.
Muniz To NASCAR
Muniz’s last full-time stint in racing was in 2023, on the Arca Menards Series. During that season, he had 11 top-10 finishes, one top-5 finish, and ended the year 4th in overall points. His limited starts in 2024 has not yielded the same level of success. Muniz has an average finishing position of 31 on the Xfinity series, and 31 on the Craftsman truck series.
In his most recent race, October 26th in Miami, Muniz finished 33rd. In his three starts this year, he has accumulated 18 total points on the season, and is currently ranked 54th. His best finish came at Kansas on September 27th, when he finished the race in 29th place.
Muniz has been a fan of high speed racing for quite a while. When he was just 16 years old, he purchased the white VW Jetta used in the movie Fast & Furious. The car was driven by the character Jesse (Chad Lindberg), and Muniz was able to purchase the street racer for $42,000 at auction. A decade later, the vehicle sold at auction for $100,000 to Barrett-Jackson.
In 2008, Muniz put acting on the backburner, and pursued a career in racing. He started in open-wheel racing, competing in the Atlantic Championship. In 2021, he changed to stock cars, joining Rhett Jones Racing.
It is unclear how his faded star power will affect ratings for the truck series, how he will do in a full Craftsman season, or whether Brian Cranston will be his crew chief. What is known, is Muniz will drive the number 33 truck, and look to build of his past success.
