Makai Lemon had given the Philadelphia Eagles and their fans a bit of a scare early in the offseason. The first-round draft pick missed the final period of OTAs due to an apparent injury. No need to worry anymore, Eagles fans; the rookie wideout provided a great update heading into training camp next week.
Makai Lemon Injury Update

Lemon missed some time during OTAs due to a Hamstring injury. Eagles fans were obviously concerned as they’ve seen those linger around and affect players all season long.
Good news is that Lemon himself told the Philadelphia Inquirer that he is 100% healthy and ready for training camp. He expects to be a full participant in camp.
Expecting Lemon to be right up to speed and showing off his first-round talent immediately should not be the case. Rookies typically take a little longer to get going, especially in this situation where he missed some time due to injury.
What To Expect From Makai Lemon

Lemon should not be expected to have a full workload in Philadelphia’s offense immediately. That’s just typically how the league works. Unless it’s a crazy preseason process for the rookie, I’d expect him to evenly split snaps with Dontayvion Wicks and Hollywood Brown.
After a few weeks, however, the door opens for Lemon to separate himself. If he is able to find success, he can absolutely take hold of the WR2 starting position.
It is currently expected that he will be the starting slot receiver to begin the year.
End Of My Philadelphia Eagles Makai Lemon Injury Rant

The Eagles needed an update like this. The concern would have been unbearable if their rookie receiver went into training camp still nursing a hamstring injury.
It will be important to take your time when judging Lemon and what you see on the football field. Let him get up to speed and get used to NFL game action. Don’t expect him to hit the ground running and look like a 1000-yard receiver from week one.
Overall, a great update on a player that will have a big impact in the future for Philadelphia.
