Liverpool has been encouraged by Alan Shearer to sign Harry Kane. The former England player sees Kane as a perfect fit for Liverpool.

What Did Shearer Say About Kane’s Possible Liverpool Move?

Speaking to Betfair, Shearer had nothing but good things to say about Kane.

“Harry Kane is a machine and he’ll always score goals. Despite his age, if you provide him with chances or balls into the box, he’ll find a way to put the ball in the back of the net and that’s the sign of a great goalscorer.”

The England legend then talked about how Kane could be beneficial for Liverpool if they managed to sign him.

“Liverpool will be looking for a centre-forward in the summer, I don’t doubt that and Harry Kane would be a great option for them because of the size of the club and he’ll score goals. Whether Harry decides to stay in Germany or he decides to come back to the Premier League, he’ll have options.”

Anyone Would Want Kane

Liverpool probably won’t be the only ones after Kane. Since heading to Bayern Munich, the striker has managed to score 76 goals in 82 matches; the number is outstanding.

Even before heading to Germany, Kane was an essential player for Tottenham. He left them as the team’s leading goal scorer.

Not to mention that he also scored 71 goals for the England national team in 105 games.

With 213 Premier League goals, Kane only needs to score 48 to break Shearer’s record. He can do that at Liverpool.

What Did Shearer Say About His Record?

Shearer didn’t seem to be minding the possibility of Kane breaking his record if he joined Liverpool.

“I’ve always said that if he comes back to the Premier League then he’ll have a really, really good chance of breaking my record. I’m a huge admirer of him and you can’t be anything but because of who and what he is.”

The former England player also made it clear that he would congratulate Kane if he broke his record.

“My Premier League record won’t last forever. I don’t know how long I’ve been at the top of the charts but it’s been a great privilege to be there when you look at the number of top quality players there. The record will go one day and when it does go, and if it’s to Harry, he knows I’d be the first to congratulate him and shake his hand because if anyone deserves it, he does. At the moment, I’m still enjoying it so long may it continue!”

Kane Still Has A Lot To Prove

Kane moving to Liverpool is still a possibility despite his contract with Bayern lasting till 2027. Kane might be looking forward to winning a title with Bayern Munich, but he didn’t rule out the possibility of returning to the Premier League.

According to Liverpool Echo, Kane talked about returning to England in the future when he signed with Bayern Munich in 2023.

“People will talk about the record and Shearer, but I’ve got plenty of football left in my career. For now, it’s about trying to achieve things here and trying to push myself and the team to try and reach new levels with this club [Bayern Munich]. That’s all my focus is on right now.”

Liverpool Would Be Lucky To Have Kane

Liverpool signing Kane won’t be beneficial only to the striker, but it will be a good thing for them too.

A player of Kane’s quality doesn’t come around a lot, and Liverpool, along with any other team, will be lucky to have him.

End Of My Liverpool Rant

Whether the Reds manage to sign Kane in the future is yet to be seen. For me, they should focus right now on renewing players’ contacts such as Mohamed Salah.
