Kyle Schwarber has been on an absolute heater as of late. Every at-bat has fans glued to the screen, and he continues to deliver every time. His power surge has him chasing greatness, and he is well on his way to doing so.

Recent Hot Streak

Schwarber is known for his incredible runs where he hits the ball out of the park at an absurd rate. The most recent example was Monday night, when he dominated the Baltimore Orioles with two home runs, including a grand slam.

Schwarber has led the MLB in home runs since the All-Star break and has captured the attention of fans all around baseball. This run has propelled him straight into MVP conversations, and the fans have been letting him know it.

MVP Competition

Pete Crow-Armstrong and Shohei Ohtani are viewed as the betting favorites, with Schwarber following close behind. The seasons that PCA and Ohtani have been putting together have been spectacular, but the Phillies’ designated hitter has matched them nearly every step of the way.

Crow-Armstrong does something neither Ohtani nor Schwarber does, and that is play defense every night. He not only plays defense; he excels at it. This will certainly affect some voters’ views, but the Phillies’ slugger has had too good a season to overlook just because he’s a DH.

End Of My Schwarber Rant

The MVP battle will come down to the wire, and Schwarber is making a huge push for the award. His positional status will certainly affect some voters’ perception, but his offense speaks for itself. He has single-handedly carried the Phillies’ offense at multiple points throughout the season.

Schwarber is an upcoming free agent, and the Phillies should desperately be trying to get their MVP candidate re-signed. His price is only going up as the season goes on, and this recent stretch is raising it even more.
