Ta’Niya Latson, the top transfer portal player, has some interesting connections, including Kentucky, that could influence her decision. She played AAU basketball with South Carolina’s Raven Johnson, Milaysia Fulwiley, and LSU star Flau’Jay Johnson in high school, which could give those schools an edge.
Latson also had Kentucky on her final list of teams when she made her decision out of high school, which suggests that she has some familiarity and interest in the Wildcats.
As the leading scorer in the country, averaging 25.2 points per game, Latson is a highly sought-after player. She’s been named a second-team All-American and has earned multiple All-ACC selections.
Some potential landing spots for Latson include Florida State, South Carolina, USC, Texas, and LSU. It’ll be interesting to see where Latson ends up, but one thing is certain – she’ll be a game-changer for whichever team she chooses.

1. Grace Merkle 6’6″ Soph (Penn State): Skilled center with strong post game and defensive skills. Originally from Mount Washington, Kentucky.

These players offer a mix of scoring, rebounding, defense, and size, addressing various needs for Kentucky. Coach Kenny Brooks will likely be attracted to their talent, versatility, and potential to make an immediate impact. These are our own wish list for the Wildcats, expect coach Brooks to look to fill 4-5 roles from the transfer portal.
