As a 4-seed, Kentucky (22-7) will face the 13-seeded Liberty Flames (26-6, the Conference USA Tournament Champions) in the first round on Friday, March 21st, at noon ET. The team’s strong regular-season performance and experience in tough SEC games have prepared them for this moment. With their home-court advantage and the support of their fans, the Cats are poised to make a deep run in the tournament.
The NCAA Tournament is a time for teams to shine on the biggest stage, and the Cats are ready to put on a show. Georgia Amoore and coach Kenny Brooks made the Final Four with Virginia Tech in 2023. Amoore has since transferred to Kentucky with her coach and is now leading the Wildcats into the 2025 NCAA Tournament, averaging 19.1 points and 6.9 assists per game.
Immediately after the first game, fifth-seed Kansas State will take on 12-seed Fairfield. This will be the first meeting between Kentucky and Liberty and between Kansas State and Fairfield. The winners of these two games will face each other on Sunday, March 23.
