Seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones has announced his retirement from the NFL after 13 seasons. He chose to make this announcement on 404 Day.
Jones has had many incredible years filled with some of the best memories. He is one of the best to put on a Falcons uniform and a future Hall of Famer.
Julio Jones’ Dominance As A Player

Julio Jones and quarterback Matt Ryan epitomized the Falcons’ peak performance. Together with Michael Turner, Roddy White, and Tony Gonzalez, they made every game exciting to watch.
Jones is among the most challenging wide receivers to evaluate. At his peak, he was exceptional and a true game-changer, yet his touchdown production, when compared to his counterparts, stands out as a surprising anomaly.
It’s uncommon to find a wide receiver as dominant as Jones, who is also adored by fans, even those of rival teams. He breaks the mold of the typical ‘diva’ stereotype. This guy simply showed up, put in the effort, excelled on the field, and consistently prioritized the team.
It’s incredibly disheartening that the Falcons walked away with nothing after a ten-year stint with Ryan and Jones. Their constant cycle of poor defense and inconsistent offensive line performance meant that they were never truly successful as a cohesive unit.
End Of My Juilo Jones Rant
During his peak, Julio Jones was possibly the most well-rounded wide receiver in NFL history. He possessed an ideal combination of speed, agility, size, leaping ability, and catching skills. He is undoubtedly among the top players from one of the greatest draft classes in 2011.
He was named an All-Pro each year from 2015 to 2019, including two selections to the first team, and he earned a spot on the 2010s All-Decade team. He is a strong candidate for the Hall of Fame; however, there have been a number of players who have had to wait so it may take some time before Jones is inducted.
