John Cena returns to WWE Monday Night Raw on Nov. 2 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The company announced the appearance on Oct. 26, and a WWE post on X opened with “CENA IS BACK.” The show starts at 6 p.m. ET on Netflix and is the final Raw before Crown Jewel on Nov. 7 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Backlash on May 9 was Cena’s last WWE television appearance, and the company has not said what the plan is for Brooklyn.
John Cena Could Set A Date For The John Cena Classic

Cena announced the John Cena Classic at Backlash in Tampa, Florida. The one-night event will feature talent from the main roster and NXT. Cena confirmed the tournament was still on track at Fan Expo Canada in Toronto in August, then said on NBC’s “Today” show that it will take place in December.
WWE has not announced a date or a city for the show. WrestleVotes Radio reported on Fightful Select on Oct. 22 that WWE is considering Dec. 12 and Dec. 19. Dec. 12 is the date of Wrestlepalooza in Perth, Australia, and Dec. 19 is the night of AEW Worlds End.
The John Cena Classic Belt Is Still Under Wraps

Cena revealed at Backlash that the event will crown the first holder of a brand-new WWE championship. Fans will vote for the winner, and every participant is eligible, so a wrestler can lose a match and still win the title. WWE has not shown the belt, and no image of the design has been released.
Currier reported that the title will likely be ceremonial rather than a championship that gets defended. Cena introduced the spinner belt on SmackDown in 2005, shortly after beating John Bradshaw Layfield for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 21. WWE has not said whether the new belt will be unveiled on Raw in Brooklyn or at the event itself.
John Cena Could Have A Role At Crown Jewel

Cena retired from in-ring competition on Dec. 13, 2025, losing to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLII. Days before that match, the retiring star revealed a new five-year deal to stay with WWE as an ambassador. The farewell run included a record 17th world championship, won at WrestleMania 41 in April 2025.
Cena did not work the first Crown Jewel in 2018, but lost to Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel 2023 in Riyadh. At Night of Champions in Riyadh on June 28, 2025, Cena beat CM Punk. Crown Jewel 2025 took place in Perth, Australia, where Cena defeated AJ Styles. The 2026 show remains scheduled for Riyadh Season Stadium despite recent U.S. security alerts for Saudi Arabia, and WWE has not announced any role for Cena.
WWE Still Has Not Announced A Date For WrestleMania 43

WrestleMania 43 is set for Riyadh in April 2027, and it will be the first edition of the event held outside North America. The exact date has not been made public. WWE has booked NXT Stand & Deliver and an official WrestleMania 43 watch party at Madison Square Garden’s Infosys Theater for that weekend.
WrestleVotes Radio reported on Fightful Select that WWE had no plans to reveal the date in October. A separate Fightful Select report said Saudi sources viewed Crown Jewel as a possible spot for the announcement. Cena hosted both nights of WrestleMania 42 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, and WWE has not said whether the Raw appearance involves the next edition.
End Of My John Cena Rant

The John Cena Classic is the real reason for this trip to Brooklyn. Cena promised December, and WWE still has no date, no city, and no look at the belt. Nearly six months away from WWE television is long enough.
The belt reveal could steal the night. A fan-voted championship is a strange idea, and the design has to sell the concept the moment the belt hits the screen. The man who gave WWE the spinner knows how to make a title look like an event.
Crown Jewel and WrestleMania 43 make sense as bonus announcements, not the headline. A Cena role in Riyadh would make Crown Jewel bigger, and a WrestleMania 43 date would give fans a reason to start planning. Brooklyn gets the payoff either way, and the John Cena Classic should finally get a proper launch.
