This early  Jeremiah Smith draft profile highlights why the Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver is widely viewed by many as the best wide receiver prospect. He could be, at minimum, the second-best player taken in the 2027 NFL Draft. The Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals, and Las Vegas Raiders could be potential landing spots for Smith.

Smith has had an exceptional performance over his two seasons with the Buckeyes. He recorded 76 receptions for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns on his way to the national championship as a freshman. Smith had 87 receptions for 1,243 yards and 12 touchdowns last season.

Why Smith To The Dolphins Is A Match Made In Heaven

Smith grew up in South Florida and has a strong desire to be drafted by the Dolphins. He went to Hard Rock Stadium and got a custom Miami jersey. Smith attended Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Hollywood, FL.

If Malik Willis is great, and the Dolphins have a very high pick, they have options. They can trade down to a quarterback-needy team, move down a spot and draft future Hall of Fame wide receiver Smith, and collect extra picks.

Why Smith #2 Is The Key To Arizona’s 2027 Future

Next April will be exciting for the Cardinals because they have convinced themselves that the key to igniting the fanbase and selling tickets will be drafting Smith number two overall. Arizona has not drafted the best player available since Larry Fitzgerald was drafted.

The Cardinals could have Oregon Ducks Dante Moore as QB1 and Carson Beck as QB2, with a solid running back, WR1, WR2, tight end, and fewer holes on the offensive line. If they draft more in the trenches, they could be good.

Why Jeremiah Smith  Is The Missing Piece To The Raiders’ 2027 Offensive Puzzle

The Raiders roster is significantly improved compared to last season, creating a clearer path for adding a true WR1. Looking ahead to 2027, their biggest need will be finding a true wide receiver. Smith and Texas Longhorns wide receiver Cam Coleman are their best options at the WR position.

It is unlikely Las Vegas will lose enough to be in the Smith sweepstakes, but if they do, the Raiders should get him. Their offense will feature QB Fernando Mendoza, RB Ashton Jeanty, Smith at wide receiver, and TE Brock Bowers.

End Of My Jeremiah Smith Rant

Smith has great ball skills all over the field. He finds the ball well downfield, he can nab it while keeping his feet in bounds on the sideline, and he consistently attacks the football away from his body. Smith’s mix of size and speed also shows up as a ball carrier. He can gash defenses and is a nightmare to tackle when all 220 pounds of him accelerates.

The Raiders, if they get a top-three pick, are primed to get Jeremiah Smith. The only real threat is Miami. I think the New York Jets would go for a quarterback at number one. The Cardinals would go for a QB because Brissett will be 34. The Tennessee Titans would go for Smith, but I think they will win enough games to knock themselves out of it.
