Jade Cargill has fallen off a cliff since WrestleMania, and WWE did the pushing. The most physically marketable signing of the decade has spent four months losing matches that never needed to be close.
The plan was obvious when Cargill arrived. She was built like a superhero, protected like an investment, and positioned as the rare wrestler who looks like a star before the bell rings.
Results since April tell a different story. Cargill came out on the losing end at SummerSlam and then lost to Charlotte Flair on SmackDown. Alexa Bliss and a debuting Tatum Paxley provided the interference that decided the second one.
The pattern repeats. Big spots that were supposed to belong to Cargill keep ending with her staring at the lights or standing confused while somebody else’s story unfolds around her.
Inevitability is the entire appeal. Cargill works as a spectacle attraction, closer to a monster truck than a technician, and the draw is the certainty that nothing standing in front of her survives.
WWE does not book a monster truck to lose narrowly. Every competitive defeat chips away at the one quality that made her different from the twenty other talented wrestlers in the division.
Win streaks can be rebuilt later. Aura cannot, because an audience that has watched somebody lose four times in a row does not forget it when the booking changes direction.
Cargill’s physical presence has not diminished at all since WrestleMania. The frame, the athleticism, and the entrance still stop a room the way they did on day one.
Booking supplied the entire difference. Wins became losses, dominant showings became competitive ones, and interference finishes replaced the clean destruction that defined the early run.
WWE has run this play before and knows how it ends. Goldberg worked because the company protected the streak obsessively, and the moment protection stopped, the character stopped.
The market for what Cargill offers is genuinely small. Wrestling produces excellent technicians constantly and produces athletes who look like comic book characters maybe once a decade, which is why the signing generated the coverage it did.
Rarity is the whole argument for protection. A company that has one of something unique and then books it the same way it books everybody else has effectively decided the uniqueness does not matter.
Time is also working against the plan. Cargill did not start wrestling until her late twenties. The window for a dominant physical run is shorter than it would be for somebody who entered developmental at nineteen.

WWE is repeating the mistake AEW made with Cargill. Treating a once-in-a-generation physical attraction as a wrestler who needs seasoning misunderstands what the attraction actually is, and the seasoning costs more than the lessons are worth.
Plenty of performers genuinely benefit from long losing stretches. A technical wrestler builds sympathy, a young talent learns timing, and a character develops depth through adversity. Every bit of that logic collapses for a wrestler whose entire value proposition is being unstoppable.
The comparison to Cargill’s own AEW run is unavoidable. She went undefeated there for years, and the streak was the character rather than a detail attached to it.
Give Cargill wins. Not eventually, not after another program, and not once the current storyline resolves. Every month of 50/50 booking burns capital WWE spent millions acquiring, and the bill arrives later in the form of a former phenomenon nobody believes in anymore. The talent is still there. The aura is leaking, and that does not come back.
