The Detroit Lions are the number-one seed in the NFC for the first time in franchise history. While the team has Super Bowl aspirations this season, it’s never too early to look ahead to next year’s opponents.
Here’s a quick look at who the Detroit Lions will play during the 2025 NFL regular season.
NFC North

As always, Detroit plays two games against the other teams in the NFC North: the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, and Minnesota Vikings. The Lions dominated their division in 2024, winning all six games against their rivals.
AFC North

Detroit will play all four teams in the AFC North in 2025. Two of the games will be at Ford Field, while the other two will be road trips for the Lions. The two home games are against the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers, while the road games are in Baltimore and Cincinnati.
NFC East

Conference games are always important for playoff seeding, and the NFC East will have plenty of playoff hopefuls. Detroit will play two challenging road games in Philadelphia and Washington. Meanwhile, the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys will visit the Motor City next season.
Two More NFC Opponents

The Lions will play every 2024 NFC division winner – including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Los Angeles Rams. Tampa was one of only two teams to defeat Detroit during the 2024 season. The Rams and Lions have also played memorable games over the years, and another could be coming our way in 2025.
One More AFC Team

With the addition of the 17th game, each team plays another team from outside their conference. Next year, Detroit will go head-to-head against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Lions beat the Chiefs in the season opener back in 2023, but it’s the Chiefs that lead the all-time series 9-6.
End Of Rant

The 2024 season was historic for the Detroit Lions. Head coach Dan Campbell has completely transformed the organization and hopes to have a serious contender for years to come. The Lions will face several tough opponents in 2025, but don’t be surprised if Detroit remains near the top of the NFC.
