The NBA season has come to an end, and now, it is time for the real fun. The playoffs are right around the corner, and some of the league’s top players are fighting for a championship. This has been an exciting year, and with so many noteworthy seasons from contenders, the Larry O’Brien trophy is up for grabs.
Cleveland Cavaliers, Oklahoma City Thunder, And More Prepare For Playoffs
As the dust settles, the top teams of the East and West are getting ready to start their journeys. The Cleveland Cavaliers finished the season with a record of 64-18. The Oklahoma City Thunder finished 68-14. The Cavs ended their season with a double overtime loss to the Indiana Pacers, while the Thunder defeated the New Orleans Pelicans by 15. Their win over New Orleans was their fourth win in a row, and now, it is a matter of sitting back and seeing who they play. While other teams know who they are facing in the first round, the Cavs and Thunder have to wait until after the Play-In Tournament.
Golden State Warriors And More Gear Up For Play-In Tournament
Before the playoffs begin, a group of teams will fight for the last two spots of their conferences. In the Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors, the Memphis Grizzlies, the Sacramento Kings and the Dallas Mavericks are competing for playoff spots. When it comes to the Eastern Conference, the Orlando Magic, the Atlanta Hawks, the Chicago Bulls and the Miami Heat are battling.
The Warriors are going to face the Grizzlies, and the winner of that game earns the No. 7 spot, and will face the Houston Rockets. Whoever loses this game will face the winner of the Kings and the Mavericks. As far as the East goes, the winner of the Magic and Hawks game earns the seventh seed. The loser faces the winner of the Bulls and Heat.
The Play-in Tournament begins on Tuesday, and will go on through Friday. Then, everything will be set and the playoffs can begin.
