Halle Collins was a rising star in Laurel County in eighth grade and made the move to Knox County, where she accomplished some incredible things during her time at Knox Central High School.
During her seventh-grade season in the 2019-2020 school year, Collins averaged 14.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Unfortunately, COVID-19 disrupted many activities that season, halting the state tournament and impacting a team that had the potential to win the state championship.

As she has made a name for herself throughout the 13th region, Halle has also accumulated several significant awards and honors at Knox Central. Notable among the honors she has received are:
- Back-to-back 13th region Player of the Year (POY) (2022-2023/10th, 2023-2024/11th)
- Back-to-back 13th region coaches POY (same years as above)
- 13th region newcomer of the year (2020-2021/8th) -5th girl in the state of KY to ever reach 3,000 points and 1,500 rebounds
- Knox Central Rebounding record holder (1,712 currently)
- 2nd in points at Knox Central (3,141 currently)
- 5x All-Region Team -2023-2024 KY/IN All-Star Game attendee
- 2024-2025 KY/OH All-Star Game Nominee -2023-2024 all-state 3rd team
- 5x district champ -Region Runner up Region Semifinalist
- Currently Top 50 in the national ever for rebounds (girls/MaxPreps)
- Currently Top 200 nation ever for Points (girls/MaxPreps)

Collins Commits To UPike University
Collins’ love for the game has been evident since she was a child. From playing hoops on the court to shooting in the backyard, her passion for basketball has translated into her play on the court. This enthusiasm has also inspired other kids, particularly young girls, who share a love for the game.
Rising above the pressure of the game, Collins has played in one of the premier locations for high school basketball in the mountains. She has emerged from challenges and proven many naysayers wrong. While her accomplishments hold significant value for her, what truly matters is her overall game and her love for basketball, which she expresses both on and off the court.

As she embarks on her new journey to UPIKE College, Halle Collins will carry with her a wealth of accomplishments from her high school career. Moving on to college presents an opportunity for her to pursue new records and honors.
Her persona off the court will play a significant role in this next chapter, especially as she has faced numerous challenges, including health issues. Few have persevered as much as Halle Collins and her determination will continue toward her college career.

One of the greatest honors I’ve had is getting to watch Halle Collins throughout her entire career at Knox Central. Her love for the game of basketball has been inspiring, and it has truly been a privilege to observe her growth both as a player and as a person from a distance.
She is a great role model for young women in the game, both on and off the court. With countless moments of taking charge during games, along with impressive points and rebounds, she has established herself as one of the best players to come out of this area in Kentucky in a long time.
As I conclude this article, I want to express how proud I am of you, Halle Collins, and all that you’ve accomplished. I look forward to seeing you make that next move at the college level and the moments you’ll share with your teammates. The love you bring to the game is inspiring.
