Dallas Cowboys running back Javonte Williams signed a three-year, $24 million contract extension. Williams signed with Dallas just a year ago for only three million and had 1,201 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns.

“I love it here, I love my teammates, I love everybody. You don’t always want to just follow money. You want to go somewhere where you can succeed and be a part of something that’s special,” Williams stated.

Williams has become an essential part of the Cowboys’ project. The team has confidence in him after his explosive performance on the field.

He continues to prove why he is one of the toughest running backs in the game. He breaks tackles and pushes for every yard.

Javonte also added value as a receiver. He showed his versatility and became the team’s best rushing producer since Ezekiel Elliott in 2019.

After putting a serious knee injury suffered during his time with the Denver Broncos behind him, Williams established himself as the Cowboys’ offensive linchpin. Dallas ensures power, continuity, and a solid foundation to compete at the highest level once again.

Javonte and the Cowboys made the right move.  It was a good fit and Williams has tread left on the tires at his age. Jaydon Blue should also mature into more of a complementary contributor next season too.

Securing a young, physical runner like Williams shows they are serious about balancing the attack. He is the type of back who can wear down a defense and help control the clock.
