The Las Vegas Raiders will enter the 2025 off-season with new general manager John Spytek and head coach Pete Carroll. The team will look to find ways to be more successful by prioritizing the quarterback position. The group struggled with free agent signing Gardner Minshew and former fourth-round pick Aidan O’Connell. With a big offseason approaching, here are three quarterbacks that the Raiders front office could consider targeting this spring via free agency or through trade.

3). Kirk Cousins

Kirk Cousins signed a four-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons. Despite playing solid football for the first half of the season, Cousins struggled down the stretch. It wasn’t that long ago that Cousins looked like an MVP candidate and had the Falcons at 6-3. During the last five games, Cousins threw one touchdown pass and nine interceptions while winning one game in that span.

He was benched in favor of rookie Michael Penix Jr. With Atlanta likely moving forward with Penix, Cousins will likely be released or traded. While Cousins still has some good football left, he will turn 37 this year. If the Raiders decide to draft a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft, Cousins would be a cheap bridge quarterback.

2). Russell Wilson

While not the superstar he once was, Russell Wilson succeeded in Pittsburgh last season. The 36-year-old helped the Steelers make the playoffs, throwing for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions during his 11 games as the starter. He also brought great leadership to the locker room.

The former Super Bowl champion would also be a great fit with the new Raiders head coach, Pete Carroll. He coached Wilson during his Seattle days. Like Cousins, Wilson would be a cheap bridge quarterback with the potential to win games this season for Las Vegas. A reunion with Carroll would make sense out west.

1). Justin Fields

If Russell Wilson resigns in Pittsburgh, Justin Fields will likely be an option for the Las Vegas Raiders. After spending his first four years with the Bears, Fields looked to have finally found success as a Steeler. The 25-year-old went 4-2 while accumulating 10 total touchdowns and only two turnovers before being benched.

Fields didn’t take a seat because of poor quarterback play, and the former Ohio State star deserves a chance to be a starter. Signing Fields would be a cheap and clever move that could potentially give Las Vegas a franchise quarterback without reaching the draft. He still has potential and could have a breakout season like Sam Darnold did in Minnesota.

End Of My Raiders Rant

The Raiders now have Brady at the helm, Carroll building the culture, and Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers as a solid foundation of weapons. They desperately need an upgrade at the signal caller position, and one of these players could be an option.
