The Philadelphia Eagles continue to add to their wide receiving core, adding veteran wideout Elijah Moore on a one-year deal, per Ian Rapoport.

What Does Elijah Moore Bring To The Eagles?

Based on this signing and the addition of Hollywood Brown a week ago, it’s clear that the Eagles are seeking to improve their wide receiver depth behind AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith.

Moore himself has been productive throughout his NFL career, having 2,274 receiving yards and 11 total touchdowns in five seasons. He also has high-end speed, having run a 4.35-second 40-yard dash during his 2021 Ole Miss pro day.

Ideally, Moore will serve as a rotational backup in Philadelphia. Although he has had productive seasons and certainly is a talented receiver, he still has struggled to be a consistent and effective target, making his future uncertain.

Is This Elijah Moore’s Last Chance?

Elijah Moore has had multiple years with wide receiver two-level production, including two straight seasons in Cleveland with 100 targets. Yet, Moore has not stayed with the same team for more than two years and was cut by Buffalo mid-season to make room for Brandin Cooks.

Moore’s inconsistencies and failure to find a role in numerous locations have led to him signing back-to-back one-year deals. If he gets cut before finishing a full season again, there is a real chance he could find himself out of the league.

That said, Moore is still a talented receiver who can create separation, so if he can settle into a depth role, he could be a valuable addition for the Eagles.
