Colorado State’s Canvas Stadium’s record breaking 15,470 student attendance helped ramp up the Rams in their first home game of the season defeating the Northern Colorado Bears in a close one 21-17.
The Rams brought out their orange crush “Aggie A&M” uniforms on Saturday, giving homage to their roots as an agricultural institution.
Rams Quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi went full “field general” mode in the last five minutes of the game marching the Aggies down the field in crunch-time to scramble in a 13 yd TD.
This left the Rams defense with 44 seconds to hold their lead and walk off the field with the win and surely, they got it done. DB Jahari Rogers secured the win with an endzone INT.
Stat Recap
Fowler-Nicolosi finished the game 13/25 with 132 yds and 1 INT, and a bonus stat of 1 catch for 9 yds. A step down from last week’s numbers, but we still got the win.
Junior QB Eric Gibson Jr. performed well in his second career start with 17/28 160 yds and 1 INT for the Bears.
Rams RB Lloyd Avant killed it in the running game putting up two rushing TD for 68 yds.

Still Some Concern
Comparing to week 1, Fowler-Nicolosi kind of took a step back in progressing. A few less completions and 50 less yards with no passing TD. Although it’s way too early to worry, it’ll be on watch.
The young promising TE Jaxxon Warren did not see much action on Saturday with ending the game with 1 catch for 16 yds. He’s a big target that will help this offense be successful.
What’s Next?

In week 3, the Rams face the UTSA Roadrunners at home once again. San Antonio is currently 0-2 under Junior QB Owen McCown, the third-year starter for the Roadrunners.
Time to enjoy the win we had this week, treat every practice like it’s a game, and get another win at home in week 3.
End Of My Colorado State Rant
After watching the gameplay, Fowler-Nicolosi still needs to improve if they want to see the postseason. He proved he can get it done in a 2-minute drill surrounded by the pressure of the fans and the team to lead them to a win. At the end of the day, we are 1-1 and are in direction to get the win column rising.
