For some, the NFL is the best, for others, College Basketball takes the top spot, and for many, the NBA stands out as one of the best. Yet, College Football remains the ultimate sport, consistently delivering entertainment and hope to the average fan.
Let’s dive into why.
The atmosphere of the NFL can’t compare to the unique charm of college football. The pageantry, the bands, the late-night pep rallies—it’s all part of what makes the sport so special. The rivalries like Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Michigan Wolverines or Oklahoma Sooners vs. Texas Longhorns are legendary.
The tradition of running onto the field and moments like the South Carolina Gamecocks entering to the theme from “2001: A Space Odyssey” create a level of excitement that’s unmatched between college and pro football.
What’s more fun than hearing your band play during halftime or after a touchdown and hearing the crowd roar, or going to the Tennessee River and catching a game on the boat on Gameday in Knoxville Tennessee, it has a special meaning behind it and because of the traditions it’s one of the greatest sport.

Nothing sets the tone like a 14-hour day spent lounging on the couch or heading to the stadium, starting with ESPN’s College Gameday kickoff and ending with late-night games on the West Coast—a perfect lineup for the average fan.
The October sky is as clear as a whistle, with leaves painted in vibrant shades of orange and yellow. You wake up to the aroma of coffee and breakfast, ready to relax in front of the TV or tailgate for an entire day of college football—it’s truly a treasure.
My favorite moment was hearing the SEC on CBS theme and knowing at around 3:30 ET you have a big matchup on tape with Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson.

The best part is cherishing lifelong friendships, meeting new people, connecting with alums, rival fans, and forming bonds with fellow supporters of your team. It’s extraordinary when food and fun come together to create unforgettable moments.
The ultimate football moments for me are the times I’ve spent with my dad, cheering on our favorite teams.
From the parking lot to the electric atmosphere, the walk up the tunnel, the band playing pregame and at halftime, the run-outs, the music blasting from the speakers, and so much more—all of it adds to the incredible college football experience.
For me, it’s hands down one of the best sports out there.
I’ve had the opportunity to witness some incredible moments and high-stakes games, and now that I can write about the sport, it makes it even more enjoyable for me. It energizes me to share with others just how amazing this sport is and why it’s truly the best.
As I wrap this up, others might prefer different sports, whether it’s hockey, soccer, basketball, baseball, or even the NFL.
But for me, there’s nothing quite like the magic of stepping into a college football stadium, seeing the lights for the first time since last season, and feeling all the memories flood back, reminding you why it’s the best.
