Regardless of how it ages, the Christian Gonzalez contract was an investment that the Patriots needed to make for the sake of the team’s future. If Mike Vrabel truly wants to build an elite team with a strong identity, he and the organization need to commit to elite players who can become cornerstones of the franchise.
