Charlotte Flair says she should be marketed as a main attraction, and the record backs her up. The tag team run has served its purpose, and the singles picture is where she belongs next.
Speaking with Busted Open, Flair was asked whether she should be viewed as a top singles star. The answer came without hedging, and she agreed she should be marketed like a champion.
The framing that followed was more interesting than the agreement. Flair said the tag team run is building toward something. She described “a bigger picture” she intends to keep working toward regardless of how slow the pace feels to some fans.
Flair also leaned into what the pairing has given her. Working comedy alongside Alexa Bliss and bouncing off a range of characters has let her show vulnerability. Flair went as far as raising the possibility that she is functioning as something close to an underdog.
Flair and Bliss returned at the Royal Rumble and became one of the more unlikely success stories on the roster. The Twisted Queens name arrived on Raw in June. The pairing had already won the Women’s Tag Team Championship at SummerSlam 2025, beating Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez for the belts.
The material worked because the mismatch worked. Flair, A 14-time world champion, playing straight woman to Bliss produced comedy that neither performer had access to alone, and a decade of stoic dominance made the contrast land.
Recent months have widened the group further. Bliss and a debuting Tatum Paxley evened the odds for Flair against Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab in the Aug. 7 SmackDown main event.
The versatility argument is real, and Flair has made it well. Very few wrestlers with her resume would accept two years away from singles gold without complaint, and fewer still would turn the detour into the best work of their careers.
Flair has not won a singles championship since late 2022. Nearly four years is a long time for anybody, and an eternity for a wrestler with her record. For a wrestler with 14 combined world titles, that gap is the number that matters.
The near misses have piled up too. Flair reached the Queen of the Ring semifinals against Liv Morgan this summer and worked the Interim Women’s Championship match at SummerSlam without leaving with anything.
The SummerSlam ladder match is the clearest example. Flair was one of five women in the biggest women’s match of the summer and watched Chelsea Green climb out with the championship. Fine result for Green, familiar one for Flair.
Time is the factor nobody controls. Flair turned 40 this year. A run that starts in 2027 is a very different proposition than one starting this fall, while the tag work still has her on television weekly.

Flair is right that she should be marketed as a main attraction and a champion. This is what makes the answer so easy. The tag division gave her the range she lacked before. Pretending otherwise ignores a year of good television that would not exist if WWE had kept her chasing belts on autopilot. Growth happened, and that’s fine.
Growth is also finished. Two years is long enough to prove a point. The tag division has nothing left to teach her. A 14-time world champion working comedy segments in year two of the experiment stops being a reinvention and starts being a holding pattern.
The women’s title picture is wide open right now, and the timing will not stay this convenient. Chelsea Green is hurt, Rhea Ripley is out until February, and Nia Jax is circling. The interim championship mess is exactly the kind of thing a legitimate main event star could clean up in a month. Flair says there is a bigger picture and she is going to keep fighting for it. WWE should stop making her wait for it.
