Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Carnell Tate left school early and declared for the NFL Draft. Three teams in the top five will want to add weapons for their quarterbacks of the future. They are the Tennessee Titans, the Cleveland Browns, and the New York Giants.

Tate caught 51 passes for 875 yards and nine touchdowns this year. He would be a WR1 on every single school that does not have Jeremiah Smith.

Tate would be amazing in the Titans offense. They need to do whatever they have to in order to secure these weapons for quarterback Cam Ward.

Other potential options for Tennessee could include Texas Tech Raiders edge David Bailey, Miami Hurricanes edge Rueben Bain, Ohio State Buckeyes safety Avrill Reese, and Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson. It would be understandable if they drafted an edge rusher.

Browns’ Path To Quick Turnaround

The Browns could go draft Tate, and an offensive tackle to turn this around pretty quickly. The best case scenario is that quarterback Shedeur Sanders continues to show improvement.

Cleveland needs to get defensive players with their later draft picks. The Browns also need to get a head coach now that Kevin Stefanski is gone.

The Giants with quarterback Jaxson Dart, running back Cam Skattebo with wide receivers Malik Nabers and Carnell Tate would be a magical offense. They also need to invest in offensive linemen.

Tate, Caleb Downs, or Reese are all needed for New York as it is worthy of the fifth pick. Honestly, it looks like they are in a no-lose situation.

Tate is a very polished route runner with good, but not game-breaking, speed. He has elite body control when adjusting to off-target throws and in contested-catch situations. He has strong, reliable hands with a low drop rate this past season. He lacks twitch and suddenness, which can limit consistent separation at times.

Tate will look to become the sixth Ohio State WR taken in the first round since 2022. The others were New York Jets Garrett Wilson, New Orleans Saints Chris Olave, Seattle Seahawks Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Arizona Cardinals Marvin Harrison Jr., and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Emeka Egbuka.
