The Buffalo Bills have all the physicality and size at wide receiver. They range from Keon Coleman to newcomer Joshua Palmer and include the freshly paid Khalil Shakir.
They are all very talented, but they lack the need for speed. Featuring a player who could leave their defenders in their dust would surely benefit the team.
This is where the Buffalo Bills can add this element during the 2025 NFL Draft. Texas wideout Isaiah Bond is a can’t-miss prospect at the wide receiver position. He ran an impressive but un-Bond-like 4.39 40-yard dash.
Luckily, the speed demon on turf ran faster with a 40-yd 4.35 score at his Texas Pro-Day. KRPC 2’s Aaron Wilson reported that Bond is getting ready to have a formal dinner with the Buffalo Bills today and an individual training session tomorrow.
It’s exciting news to hear, and this comes on the heels of the Bills arranging a meeting with the wide receiver at the Combine. Look for more reports on this soon.
The mock draft experts project that the 5′ 11″, 180 lb. receiver will be a day two pick, which benefits the Bills. Of their ten total selections, the team has two second-round picks and two in the fourth.
The Bills need a speed demon like Bond who can burn corners while being covered down the field and take a pass to the house for six. Bond matches perfectly with what the Bills need, and they are keen on Bond as one of their draft choices.
Another speed burner they can take a look at is Bond’s teammate (WR) Matthew Golden. While Golden may go late in the first round, he is similar to Bond, who ran a 4.29 40-time. Despite being ten seconds faster, the 6′ 0″, 190 lb. receiver can be a Bills’ option for stretching defenses down the field, but he also seems more of a number 1 option than Bond, the pure slot guy.
The Bills should have a good sense of what they want in a prospect like Bond. Bills’ GM Brandon Beane has demonstrated in the past by drafting well, except for taking cornerback Kaiir Elam in the first round of the 2022 draft. Since his first draft class, which included Josh Allen in 2018, Beane has made solid selections. It’s okay for Beane to miss with Elam’s draft pick, as the team has collected so much talent that not hitting on Elam gives Beane a free pass.
Let’s hope the Bills do well in the draft this year. When Day 2 comes around, the Bills Mafia will hopefully hear that Bond was selected because the visit went well, and he’s also a good football player and representative of Western New York.
