BIGGEST DAY – India retained DOUBLE GOLD in team sports:

  • Cricket Men GOLD – India beat Pakistan by 19 runs in a thrilling final – At Korogi Athletic Park, Nisshin – Abhishek Sharma’s 61 and Tilak Varma’s unbeaten 51 powered the Indians to a formidable 211. India cruised to a 19-run win over Pakistan to retain the title they won at Hangzhou 2023. Shreyas Iyer’s Indians beat Sri Lanka by 124 runs in the semifinal (Sri Lanka all out for 45 in 9.5 overs) earlier. IOA President PT Usha confirmed the tally reached 19 golds after the cricket gold.
  • Hockey Men GOLD – India outclass Malaysia 5-1 in the final! – GOLD NO.21 FOR THE INDIANS! Dominant second half led by captain Harmanpreet Singh, who bagged two goals. India beat Pakistan 4-3 in a thrilling semi-final to reach the final. For the first time, the Indians have won both men’s and women’s hockey golds at the Asian Games! Indian women beat China 1-0 on Oct 2 with Lalremsiami goal (first gold after 1982), men beat Malaysia 5-1 – Historic double.
  • Wrestling: Antim Panghal gold? Actually at 4:02 PM women’s 53kg gold medal bout, plus other medals
  • Final Medal Tally: With 85 medals and 21 golds, it was another memorable Asian Games campaign. India rose to 4th place in the medal tally!
