Well, Seahawks Fans, there is some good news and some bad news. The good news is that the team won their week 17 game against the Chicago Bears 6-3 and hopefully will win against the Rams (This Article is being written a few hours before the game against the Rams). The bad news is with the Washington Commanders beating the Atlanta Falcons 30-24 in overtime last week, the team has mathematically been eliminated from the playoffs. Which sucks, but there are 3 main reasons why they didn’t make it.

1. Sloppy Offensive Line Play

The offense was very mediocre, but the clear weak link is the offensive line play. Is it terrible? No, but the word that needs to be used here is sloppy. The entire offensive line play all year was very sloppy and it didn’t help that the Sehawks dealt with a lot of injuries and lack depth options. The only offensive lineman that was the most consistent and not sloppy was Charles Cross. That dude in my opinion is one of the best blindside tackles in the NFL and he is going to get paid when his rookie deal is done. One thing is for sure, Seattle needs to invest in depth on the offensive line next year.

2. The Seahawks Had A Bad October

Going back to look at all the games this season, Seattle had a terrible October. They only won 1 of their 4 games in that month. Excluding the Falcons game where they won, Seattle looked absolutely terrible and unprepared. If they didn’t have that lapse, we might be talking about their chances in the playoffs. Out of all those games in October, there is one in particular that came back to haunt them.

3. That Loss Against The Giants Came Back To Haunt Them

Going back earlier into the season, there is one loss that absolutely haunts the Seahawks, and it’s against the New York Giants. In Week 5, the Seahawks lost 29-20: it was a terrible loss then, and it’s worse now. Especially with how terrible the New York Giants are, that loss has aged terribly every day that passed this season – and was full of uncharacteristic lapses in execution from the Seahawks. If they had won that game, Seattle absolutely would have made the playoffs, I believe it.

On The Bright Side – That Leonard Williams Interception Was Awesome

Seattle has a lot of bright spots this season. From the bunch, I am going to go with one of my favorite players who used to play for the New York Jets, DE/EDGE Leonard Williams. In a game against the dysfunctional New York Jets, Leonard Williams caught an interception and returned it 92 yards for a touchdown. As a Jets fan, while it was frustrating to see, I am glad it was Williams who made the Pick-6. Williams showed he had plenty left in the tank and that interception was all the proof that was needed.

It’s on to next season for the Seahawks, who had some promising moments, but need to execute better if they want to avoid this same fate next year.
