The Ja Morant Memphis Grizzlies era could be coming to an end. The Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat, Sacramento Kings, and Orlando Magic are emerging as the top teams looking into a potential deal.

League sources have linked Morant to multiple teams, though no trade appears imminent. He averaged 19.5 points per game on 41 FG%, 3.2 rebounds per game, 8.1 assists per game, one steal per game, and 0.3 blocks per game during the regular season

Why Pairing Ja Morant With Anthony Edwards Is The Ultimate Boom Or Bust Move For The Timberwolves

Morant has been rumored to be a potential trade target for the Timberwolves. He is among the riskiest options if Minnesota wants to make a trade splash this offseason.

He’s a one-man fast break; he can break anyone down off the dribble, and he’s an incredible finisher. If Morant improves his outside shot, he could become an even more complete offensive player. He and Anthony Edwards would be an interesting backcourt duo. The pairing is the ultimate boom or bust move because, although they would be explosive on the court, Morant’s off-court controversies and inconsistent three-point shooting have raised concerns among some evaluators.

If they pursue a trade for Morant, a trade package could hypothetically include Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo’s expiring contract, and small draft compensation. A third team could also enter the framework if the Grizzlies are unwilling to absorb the remaining two years on Randle’s contract ($33.3M, $35.8M PO).

How Ja Morant Can Be The Miami Heat’s Next Franchise Star

Morant could be the Heat’s next option if they fail to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo. If he teams up with Bam Adebayo and Andrew Wiggins, Ja would have the opportunity to turn his career around. He could become what LeBron James was for Miami from 2010 to 2014 by bringing the buzz back to this organization. Jimmy Butler was their last major offseason acquisition.

With head coach Erik Spoelstra leading the charge, Morant could benefit from playing for an established champion. The Heat’s offense could also benefit his skill set because Spoelstra has switched the style to more of a run-and-gun system. He could be their next franchise star by running the offense as their playmaker and helping elevate their long-term ceiling.

A theoretical trade package could involve Tyler Herro, Nikola Jovic, Davion Mitchell, Kasparas Jakučionis, and a 2027 second-round draft pick. Memphis wants something for Ja, so they basically get a first-round pick and only one more year on Herro’s contract, and a second-round pick. The Heat would gain additional roster flexibility.

Why The Kings Trading For Ja Morant Creates The NBA’s Most Chaotic Duo

The Kings could be an ideal destination for Morant. He and Domantas Sabonis would make a solid, dynamic duo, but Sabonis projects to be made available once again as part of this summer’s trade landscape. Russell Westbrook and Ja on the same team would create the league’s most chaotic duo due to their athleticism, and them needing the ball in their hands. This organization already lost De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton.

A hypothetical scenario for what the Grizzlies could receive in a trade for him this offseason could look like Sacramento receiving Morant while Memphis receives Zach LaVine, Devin Carter, and the No. 34 overall pick. Morant’s trade value may be lower than it once was due to injuries, off-court concerns, and his sizable contract.

Why Ja Morant Could Head To The Magic This Summer

The name Morant could come up for the Magic, who want to build a strong roster next season. He could head to them this summer since Desmond Bane could reunite with his former teammate. If conditions align, he could head to Orlando in June.

A hypothetical trade for them to receive Ja could involve the Magic having to give up Jalen Suggs, Jonathan Isaac, and Goga Bitadze. Their potential starting lineup could be Morant, Bane, Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero, and Wendell Carter Jr.

The relationship between Morant and the Grizzlies remains a topic of speculation, and if Memphis chooses to explore the trade market, discussions could intensify before free agency. They may be weighing whether to move Morant before his value potentially changes further.

The sweepstakes for the multi-time All-Star are already heating up. Any potential Morant trade would immediately become one of the NBA offseason’s biggest storylines.
