The North Carolina Panthers will pick up quarterback Bryce Young’s fifth-year option for 2027. The fully guaranteed option is projected to be worth $26.5 million.
“Bryce has shown flashes of greatness this year against high level competition,” Dave Morgan stated.
He also mentioned how as a team they were not as consistent as they wanted to be.
In 2025, Young had 2403 passing yards for 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions, in comparison to having 3,011 passing yards with 23 TD and 11 INT in 2026. He is growing in his play on the field and continues to lead with high character and integrity.
Young had a bounce-back 2026 season, leading Panthers to their first division title since 2015. He was the No.1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Hope he carries it into next year. He has the weapons on offense with running backs Rico Dowdle and Chubba Hubbard, and wide receivers Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker. They need a better pass-blocking offensive line.
The Panthers future is bright. Bryce Young is the future. They have a nucleus of guys in that locker room who can get it done, and they will cook this off season.
The Panthers picking up Young’s 5th-year option is the smartest move they’ve made since Cam Newton. Don’t be shocked if Carolina wins the division, makes a playoff run, and Bryce ends up in the MVP conversation next year.
North Carolina gave its fans a special season; most of it unexpected: a division title, playoff appearance and big upsets. What does next season have in store? For now they will enjoy the accomplishments of this season.
